HER ONLY SALVATION by J.C. Valentine
Although this is one of J.C. Valentine’s early works, it’s yet again ANOTHER BLOCKBUSTER!!! I hadn’t even read the prologue to Her Only Salvation and she already had me in tears!! This is a heart wrenching, but all too truth of a story. However I’m glad it ended as HEA!!! No sex (between main characters), some physical violence that COULD be a trigger to some that have had to deal with PHYSICAL DOMESTIC ABUSERS, and the control they have. But this story is about so much more than that!!
Terri has done everything she could to make her husband happy, and it wasn’t enough. When she’d finally had enough to call it quits, she knew she’d either end up in the hospital or possibly the morgue. But she woke up and he ended up in jail, NO where near as long of time as he should have. But it gave her a chance to have a normal life until he got out, which when he did she KNEW he’d come after her. So she enjoyed her life while she could. She started a new job in a new town. Now her EX Randy is out, what will happen next? Who does he have helping him? Will Terri make through this torturous behavior again? You’ll have to read Her Only Salvation to find out!
Please be ADVISED before reading this book it may have some valid triggers. So PLEASE if you have a prejudice viewpoint regarding physical abuse that you cannot set aside while reading a fictional story, then please STOP reading and find another book. It would be unreasonable & unfair to the author if you read and then rated their work poorly based on personal feelings instead of the fictional work the author has produced. If you do decide to continue reading, HAPPY READING! Because of the storyline I recommend readers OVER 18 read this story. I received an ARC copy via IndieSage in exchange for a blog tour review
•“You can’t. They would lock you up, and then who would watch out for me?”
Truer words have never been spoken….
•She decided to put her trust into a man. This time, she only hoped she wouldn’t get burned.
•“You live here?” “I should hope so. Otherwise, someone is about to get a big surprise when we walk in the front door.”
•“Take out the garbage.”
Sometimes, relationships can be deadly.
Terri thought she was marrying a strong, loving man, only to find that beneath that handsome face lies something cold, brutal, and dangerous. After years of abuse, her husband takes things a little too far, and Terri finally summons the courage to take matters into her own hands and make her escape.
But freedom comes at a price.
Forging a new life, Terri moves to a new town and tries to forget her past, but she can’t help looking over her shoulder at every turn. When prison bars can no longer hold her husband, and her past comes knocking, Terri finds that the strength to trust again may be her only salvation. When her attractive new boss steps up to the plate and vows to protect her at all cost, she’s inclined to accept…but can she ever allow herself to trust her instincts again?
*Author Note* Her Only Salvation is a bold and enticing storyline with a hint of romance (sensual but not explicit). This book was originally released under J.C. Valentine’s given name and was entitled “Spring Cleaning.”
