Synopsis ~
“Darkness isn’t one shade, sweetheart.”

Three centuries ago, Molly Darling’s ancestors signed a contract in blood—daemon blood—to protect themselves from harm. On the eve she turns nineteen, Molly leaves for her birthday party against her parent’s wishes, sick of their warnings about her “betrothal to a demon.”

Except that she’s very much betrothed, and he’s very much a demon—one who’s only agreed to the nuptials to use Molly’s ancient daemon powers. Brash, arrogant, and built like a Greek god, Tensley Knight keeps showing up to save Molly from otherworldly attacks, only to insult her a moment later.

As Molly learns more about the demon world, she realizes two things: that her family’s safety depends on a successful marriage, while any chance of freedom she’ll ever have calls for Tensley’s demise.

Yet sometimes Molly spots a tortured soul beyond those liquid grey eyes, and there’s no denying the way her skin tingles when Tensley touches it. In Vein of Love, safety requires sacrifice, foe becomes lover, and one must decide whether to kiss…or to kill.

Review ~
Vein of Love (Blackest Gold Book 1) by R. Scarlett
•Demons
Talk about having the worst birthday’s EVER!! When you have to worry about a blood contract you’re ancestors signed over 300 years ago, and you are the one to fulfill it because you are a rare daemon. Molly has always worried about what lurks in the shadows. She’s been told she’s betrothed to a demon, but he hasn’t shown up to claim her yet. That changes the night before her 19th birthday when her friend throws her a party. Her one and only betrothed Tensely Knight shows up to not only claim her, but then he continues showing up to protect her from other demons. But them he continues to threatens her family’s safety at the same time. Molly may be attracted to the sexy jerk with the wonderfully broad shoulders, but she wants nothing to do with him or the contract. She will find a way to get out of it, and keep her family safe at the same time.
Wow what a majorly intense, action packed story about demons and being betrothed to one. Once you start reading you’ll keep reading till the end to find out what happens next. This story doesn’t really end as a cliffhanger, more of an anticipation of more to come, which I cannot wait to read! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSage in exchange for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older!
