Synopsis~
One summer can change everything.

Jacinda Prescott spent one life-changing summer in Sweet Breeze Bay, New Zealand, and left disaster in her wake. Since then, she’s thrown herself into her music career, and her life in LA. But when the price of fame threatens to become more than she’s willing to pay, the distant bay calls her back.

Liam Ward walked away from everything he knew after the death of his talented brother, the guy Jacinda loved and lost. When he finally returns to the bay, looking for closure, she’s the last person he expects to find—and the last woman he should fall for.

Stuck as neighbors for the summer, their off-limits attraction is hotter than the South Pacific sun. But the secret that ties them together is the one thing that could destroy her career, and break their hearts all over again…if they let it.

Serena Clarke writes feel-good contemporary romance with sweetness AND heat. Readers have described her books as engaging page-turners, with sigh-worthy happy endings that’ll leave you smiling.

Her own story? She’s lived in thirty-nine houses, in seven cities, in four countries. She’s been a riding instructor, edited a medical journal, worked in a London law firm, and taught English as a second language to wayward teenagers. Review~
ONE DISTANT SUMMER (A Sweet Hot Summer Novel) by Serena Clarke
New Zealand Beach
Jacinda needed a break from her LA music career because of the way they want her to purpose herself. So she takes a break by going back to where she spent time when she was 17 at her grandmothers home on the beach in New Zealand. A lot happened that summer.
Liam and his family moved away from their home on the beach of New Zealand when he was 17, right after his brother Ethan’s death. Now he’s finally back to hopefully find some closure. He never expected to see her there too.
Liam loved Jacinda when they were teens but she dated his older brother instead, now he’s stuck with her again as his neighbor. He’s tried but hasn’t been able to turn his feelings for her off. Jacinda is attracted to him also, but there are secrets connecting them that could destroy her. Can they find the healing they’re both looking for and need, or will they continue to live their lives in pain? Will they find comfort and love together? You’ll have to read ONE DISTANT SUMMER to find out.
What an amazing emotional love story. ONE DISTANT SUMMER was my first Serena Clarke book, but it won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her writing style, the story flowed flawlessly. Her descriptions of the New Zealand beaches definitely makes me want to see them. I cannot wait to read more of her stories. Due to sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR in exchange for an honest blog tour review.
