Soft-spoken and shy Hannah Fisher is determined to make the man she’s loved her entire life finally see her as a woman. With the help of a makeover, a new mission—Operation Find My Happy—and the convenient forced proximity of a tour bus, she vows to win her best friend Deacon’s heart.

Former bad boy and current fiddle player Deacon Latrell has the world at his fingertips: a new gig with a famous band, plus his best friend on tour as his son’s nanny. Life couldn’t get much sweeter. Now if only he could stop imagining kissing the daylights out of his childhood BFF…

With one friend set on pushing the boundaries and the other afraid to rock the boat, one thing’s for certain—their story would make one heck of a country song.

Excerpt~

The lingerie had been an impulse purchase—an impulse that had then led to an epiphany. Blush and jade. Satin and lace. Toile and mousseline…the colors, styles, and textures had been overwhelming. Trying them on, well, that had been extraordinary. The silk had felt decadent against Hannah’s skin, almost forbidden, and so unlike anything she’d ever worn before. Living an ocean away from everyone and everything she’d ever known, nursing a broken heart, it had been exactly what Hannah had needed.

Initially, she’d fled to Paris to get over Deacon, but more than that, she’d been fleeing the woman she’d sadly become. A woman who sat on the sidelines of her own life. For far too long, she’d allowed other people to dictate her happiness, and that realization, coupled with naughty lingerie and a few glasses of spectacular wine in an adorable bistro, had birthed her new mission. Hannah liked to call it, Operation Joie de Vivre…or Operation Find My Happy.

Her mission was threefold.

First up, no more hiding. Hannah’s bad habit of shying away from experiences simply because they made her nervous was over. Now, she would be bold. Adventurous. Outgoing. Anything from forming friendships to speaking her mind was fair game, with the number one rule being no more skulking in the shadows. Paris had awoken a desire to start truly living—and to stop putting her dreams on hold.

Secondly, Hannah wanted to find her place in the world. The tour with Blue was a perfect opportunity to explore a new option. So far, her contract lasted only through the national leg, with the idea that they’d extend her stay once she’d gotten past a short trial period—a test she intended to pass with flying colors. At twenty-four, she was excited to settle into a career where she could make a real difference, and while she hoped to find that in this position, she was open to just about anything. Band nanny, au pair, or a preschool teacher, they all sounded wonderful. As long as she could make a real contribution, it would fit the bill.

Lastly, but perhaps most importantly—

She was putting her heart on the line, once and for all.

Lingerie may’ve kicked off her mission, but it was the hope of Deacon that gave it life. Denying her feelings all these years hadn’t changed them. Neither had leaving the country. The only thing that would, or so she’d decided, was pushing the boundaries of their friendship. Flirting (an activity with which Hannah had zero experience) and letting Deacon know she was ready for love were all part and parcel of her new plan to get her best friend to finally see her as a woman.

Review ~
The Nanny Arrangement (Country Blues Book 2) by Rachel Harris
•Superman
What happens when you’re a 15yr old girl and the “school-freak” and feeling as the town outcast when a new boy moves in next door?? After watching him you finally get the guts to go say “H-h-h-hello”, and then bring him home for dinner. You’re instant best-friends from then on. However you’ve always been in love with that boy, but he only sees you as his best-friend. Fast forward 10yrs, time to put *Operation Joie de Vivre…or Operation Find My Happy. (directly from book)*, into action! This is exactly how this story starts, you’ll have to read The Nanny Arrangement to find out how Hannah and Deacon’s story pans out. It’s emotional I laughed, smirked, chuckled and bawled my eyes out…(be prepared you might need a tissue or two) BUT it’s SO worth the time to read this HEA love story! This is my first Rachel Harris story, but I’m looking forward to reading more from her…. Now I’ve got to go read Accidentally Married on Purpose (Book 3 of the Love and Games series–Tyler and Sherry’s story) and You’re Still the One (Country Blues Book 1–Charlie & Arabella’s story)…. Her writing style is awesome. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Entangled Publishing and Tasty Book Tours through NetGalley for an honest review.
Favorite Passages ~
• Maybe…maybe they could save each other.
• I’m a goofball who watches Wonder Pets and sings made-up songs about inanimate objects.
• I hated high school. Just thinking about it gives me hives.”
• “Trust me, sweets. We’ve all battled mean girls at some point. Kids can be unbelievably cruel. I wouldn’t go back to those days if you paid me.”
• Blue at least, a raging case of matchmaker-itis.
• “A dose of new love is definitely that. And a happily ever after project will distract me from my swollen ankles.”
• From this moment on, my love life—or what there is of it—is in your capable hands. I’m eager to learn from the love masters.”
• I’m telling you, it’s like taking candy from a baby.”
• “Have you ever tried taking candy from a baby?”……“I’ve never understood that analogy. Kids are like women with PMS—if you try to take away their candy, someone’s gonna get a fat lip.” (OMG I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard!!! Awesome line and OH SO TRUE!!)
• A couple sweet compliments did not a lover make.
• Father and son.Together and alone. Missing the puzzle piece that completed them. (Yep, one of the bawling moments… Still made me tear up while writing this!)

You’re Still the One (Country Blues Book 1) by Rachel Harris

Love is one dare neither of them can take…

Arabella Stone, Nashville’s darling, is eager to shuck her prim-and-proper rep, and a few wild months spent checking items off her ” summer bucket list” is the way to do it. First up: kiss the man she’s crushed on since she wore a training bra, the bad boy of country himself, Blue bassist Charlie Tucker.

For Charlie, a beautiful woman flirting with him isn’t out of the norm–but a beautiful woman bolting after the hottest kiss of his life sure is. And when he finds out his kiss-and-run Cinderella is none other than Arabella Stone, daughter of his label’s CEO, he knows he’s in trouble. Because not only is she a Stone, she’s also his employee for the next few months at the recording studio he just bought.

Over the course of one thrilling summer, Arabella and Charlie chip away at her bucket list and fight the simmering attraction between them…knowing that once it’s all over, so is their time together.

Tasty Q&A with Rachel Harris

1. Describe yourself in five words or less.
Silly, hopeful, romantic, and loyal.

2. What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?
When I’m not writing, I’m a homeschool mom (my main job and passion in life), so you can usually find me with a book in hand and cuddled with my children. Or in my SUV driving the streets of Houston to one of their extracurriculars and hoping like heck Google Maps knows where it’s going 😉 Family time is very important to me and our days are hectic and full. If I’m not doing any of the above, I’ll be in drinking wine with my husband or in the bathtub reading a good romance (a yummy candle is a must!).

3. A la Twitter style, please describe your book in 140 characters or less.
Love hides in the most surprising places: right under your nose, and sometimes, in the nanny’s tour bus bunk #FallingForYourBestFriend #Oops

4. What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?

I’ve recently discovered that I LOVE writing scenes where the heroine is slightly tipsy lol. It’s so much fun to see how my characters act, what they think, and definitely the things they say, where their guards are down and their confidence is high. Hilarious settings and situations are a definite plus!

5. How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?
In some ways, I’ve always been a writer, but I never finished a story or ever considered it a potential career until about seven years ago. My husband bought me the Twilight books and I fell back in love with reading—and I read so much and talked my husband’s ear off so much that he suggested I try writing a book, too. It was summer break for our home school and my girls were very young, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I threw myself into research, studied my favorite books and read every blog post on writing from my favorite authors, and by August of 2010, I started what would later become The Fine Art of Pretending, one of my YA contemporary romances. I finished that by Thanksgiving, started My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by January, and that book released the following year. In 2012, my fabulous editor at Entangled suggested I try writing an adult romance for a new imprint that she was launching, and I’ve been having a blast writing both ever since.

6. Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
Every book I write has some borrowed real life experience, and every character I create has a piece of me. Hannah’s love of silly made-up songs is totally me (I even put in one of my children’s favorites about muffins in the book, ha!), and I used my own memories with my kids for all things nanny. But the biggest experience that I borrowed for the book is probably a particularly epic moment that happens after Deacon and Hannah’s first kiss! I won’t spoil anything by giving it away, but let’s just say what happens after that is a hodge-podge of TWO epic/embarrassing moments that happened in my own life. Hey, what good is it being an author if you can’t write-in your most mortifying moments to share with the world, right?? LOL
