Excerpt ~
“Do you have any idea in that gorgeous head of yours how difficult it’s going to be for us to just be friends?” River pushes a stray hair from my face, looking directly in my eyes.

He walks up to me and stands entirely too close.
I can smell him and feel his warm breath against my face
River’s voice gets low, and he wipes at my eyes with the pads of his fingers. “I keep trying to force myself to have feelings for Willow, but I think it’s impossible.”
“Why?” I ask between sobs.
“Do you really want to know why, Kate?”
“Yes, tell me.”
River presses the hard lines of his body into mine and puts his hands on my face. “It’s really simple. It’s because she isn’t you.” River stares into my eyes and slowly inches his lips to mine. There’s so much want behind it, deep and powerful, as if he’s trying to possess me—own me. It’s like this every time River kisses me.

Before I know it. River’s face is in my hair as he whispers in my ear. “I want to touch you so bad.” I shiver at the feel of his warm breath smelling of soda and River.
“You can’t,” I say under my breath. “Please stop. They’re going to see.”
“You’re so close to me. I miss you.” His hand moves back up my leg.
My heart melts. I miss him too, and all I want to do is be close to him. I can’t let him know I agree, though. “I’m sorry,” I whisper, and I shift my legs so they are on top of Lane’s.

Before I can say anything, he puts his arms around me, planting his lips so harshly to mine I can barely register what’s happening.
The kiss is powerful. Filled with urgency and desire.
Far be it for me to stop him now, because I’m hungry for it. I want this closeness with him, and all of the resolve I’ve had built up is suddenly knocked down with one kiss. Lips to lips, tongue to tongue, all I can breathe is River.

What About Us (Bluff Harbor Book 2) by Emma Tharp
• Love
What am amazing continuation to River and Kate’s story.. You’ll have to read What About Us (Book Two in the Bluff Harbor Series) to find out whether or not they end up with the HEA at the conclusion or what happens. There’s a LOT of emotion and love throughout this book and series, will love conquer? I thoroughly enjoyed reading both books. Although this is book two of the series which picks up where book one ends, you could read this as a standalone story, but I recommend reading both…. Just because I love them both! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language, this book is recommended for readers 18 and older!

About the Author
Emma was raised in upstate NY. Being an only child, she spent a great deal of time alone dreaming up characters that would keep her company on long family road trips. Putting her writing on the back burner, she went to college and became a chiropractor. After spending 14 years healing patients, Emma decided—with the help of her amazingly supportive husband—to use the creative side of her brain and let her characters come to the page.

If she’s not writing, Emma can be found at the gym, one of her kids sporting events, Starbucks, or at a live music event.

A perfect day for Emma would be spent at her lake house with her husband, two ginger-haired children, and Vizsla, reading a book and drinking a large cup of coffee (or wine) with music playing in the background.

Blurb
Over the course of one wild road trip, feuding childhood sweethearts get a second chance at love in this charming rom-com—a standalone novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Blurred Lines and Good Girl.

When Lucy Hawkins receives a job offer in San Francisco, she can’t wait to spread her wings and leave her small Virginia hometown behind. Her close-knit family supports her as best they can, by handing over the keys to a station wagon that’s seen better days. The catch? The cross-country trip comes with a traveling companion: her older brother’s best friend, aka the guy who took Lucy’s virginity hours before breaking her heart.

After spending the past four years and every last dime caring for his sick father, Reece Sullivan will do just about anything to break free of the painful memories—even if it means a two-week road trip with the one girl who’s ever made it past his carefully guarded exterior. But after long days of bickering in the car turn into steamy nights in secluded motel rooms, Reece learns that, when it comes to Lucy, their story is far from over. And this time, they just might have a shot at a happy ending.

Exclusive Excerpt

“Spock, we’re giving you Horny!” my mom blurts out, apparently fed up with my denseness.
Her utterance is too much for my siblings to handle and they both burst out laughing, retreating into the kitchen to rejoin the party where there’s wine.
Oh what I wouldn’t give for wine right now.
“I, um . . . you’re giving me the car?” I ask.
“Because yours broke down,” my dad explains, walking forward to thump Horny’s dented hood.
“And this one’s . . . not broken down?” I ask skeptically.
Look, it’s not that I’m not grateful. My parents are trying to give me a car, I appreciate the sweetness of the gesture, it’s just . . .
Here’s the thing about Horny: he barely got us three kids through high school. I mean, Horny is the car that sputtered and shook making it the 3.2 miles to Jefferson High, no matter who was behind the wheel.
I’m even going to come all the way clean here and say that early on in my freshmen year, I was embarrassed showing up in Horny. Then I realized I was lucky to have a car at all, and well . . . I dunno, I guess Horny became a part of us Hawkins kids’ charm, because the station wagon was practically an institution from Craig’s high school reign all the way through Brandi’s.
But poor Horny quit working years ago. Much to Brandi’s chagrin, he gave up the ghost a mere two months before her high school graduation, and I spent the last bit of her senior year being picked up by my parents.
“He’s going to take you to California,” Dad says, giving the car another thump.
“Really?” I step forward and run a tentative finger along the familiar panel. He’s had a bath, so at least that’s something. “Because last I knew, he wouldn’t even make it out of the garage.”
“Yeah, well, we neglected him for a while, but he’s right as rain now,” Dad says, puffing out his chest as though Horny’s a fourth child.
“Like, as in he actually starts?”
“Purrs like a kitten,” my mom says with an emphatic nod, even though I know she doesn’t even like cats. “We didn’t believe it, but we took him to church on Sunday and there were no issues.”
I literally bite my tongue to keep from pointing out that this is hardly a feat. Sacred Presbyterian is 0.8 miles away from the house.
“You took Horny into a shop?” I ask, starting to warm to the idea of having a car again. I’m a little touched, actually. Money is tight for my parents. Dad’s a PE teacher, and Mom gives a mean winery tour, but the gig’s never paid much.
“Not exactly, it was more of a bartering situation,” Mom says.
“Yeah?” I say, going around to the driver’s seat, already giddy with the prospect of telling Oscar I’ll be able to come see him in Miami after all, even if I won’t exactly be riding in style.
“Reece agreed to fix him up.”
I’m lowering myself into the car as my dad says this, but I reverse so quickly I hit my head. My skull doesn’t even register the pain, because I’m too busy registering the hurt in my heart at the familiar name. “I’m sorry, what?”
“Reece,” my mom says, giving me a bemused look. “He’s always been handy with cars.”
“He fixed up the car in exchange for what?”
And then I feel—I actually feel—the air change around me as the side door to the garage opens, and a new presence sucks all the air out of the space.
I don’t turn around. I don’t move. But I feel his eyes on me. Over me.
“Reece is headed out to California too,” my oblivious mother chatters on. “It worked out perfectly actually. Now you two can ride together, and your dad and I don’t have to worry about you alone in the middle of nowhere with a twenty-something-year-old car.
They think the car is going to be the problem here? It’s not the car that’s toxic to me. It’s him.
Reece Sullivan. My brother’s best friend. My parents’ “other son.”
Slowly I force myself to turn, and even though I’m prepped, the force of that ice-blue gaze still does something dangerous to me.
He winks, quick and cocky, and I suck in a breath, and I have to wonder . . .
I wonder if my parents would feel differently about their little plan if they knew that their makeshift mechanic is the same guy that popped my cherry six years earlier under their very roof.
And then broke my heart twenty-four hours later.

LOVE STORY by Lauren Layne
•What an infuriatingly funny young love story
I was excited to read the story from the prologue and couldn’t put it down until I finished it! It is an awesome story Reece and Lucy have had a tumultuous relationship since they were 8/9 yrs old. Then they had a brief shot at life age 18/19, now they’re 24/25. Her parents have them traveling across the united states together since they’re both going to work in the wine district. He works the vineyards while she went to college and markets the wine for the vineyard she works for. However they have to get to California without killing each other first. They both feel like the other broke their heat and cannot stand to be in the same room, let alone a car for two weeks together. It’s a love hate relationship, they used to be best friends. Can they make it to California alive? Will they be friends or lives if they get there? You’ll gave to read LOVE STORY to find out what happens on their emotion filled cross country drive. You get to see both Reece and Lucy’s perspectives, which is definitely comical at times. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours through NetGalley in exchange for an honest blog tour review.

GRAVITY by A. B. Bloom
•Love Or Life
I really hope GRAVITY turns into a series! This is my first A.B. Bloom book, and I enjoyed reading it. Her writing style is awesome, the way she’s built each character throughout the storyline is spectacularly done. I canNOT wait to read more.
Bronte was a normal teenage girl, that is until her 16th birthday when an extreme amount of health issues arrive, yet the doctors have yet to figure out what is actually going on! We follow her through her days with her best friend Lauren at school, and then sexily gorgeous Nick shows up and throws her world off kilter. However Nick isn’t the only one to come to light up her life. What happens with Bronte? You’ll have to read GRAVITY to find out, but there are lots of unexpected twists and turns from beginning to end. This book uses British/UK spellings and references. Caught by the Blizzard (Tellure Book 1) by Adele Huxley
•Intense
Great beginning to an intense story! This is my first Adele Huxley book, but it won’t be my last! Liz is running from her painful past and trying to figure out how to start fresh. Bryan is trying to figure out how to cope with the painful tragedies in his past. When they meet its an instant connection that neither of them know what to do with.
After her mothers death, her double mastectomy to my which caused her father to sell their family home to pay for. Liz just wanted to get the money to buy back their home for him, he’s lost too much. Liz came to Colorado because she wanted time to reconnect with her best friend Kayla and figure out how to get her life back on track as and maybe learn how to ski like her mother did. Things are looking up for her, she even meets Bryan, this sexy as hell guy who confused the hell out of her. Now her past is catching up with her, her ex Rick shows up on the mountain fresh out of prison. How did he not only get out, but find her? He’s demanding she follows through with their arrangement. What will this mean to the newly budding relationship she’s building with Bryan?
Bryan came back to Tellure Hollow to conquer his demons. If he cannot be who he was born to be “The Blizzard”- the Olympic skier who tore up the slopes .. then who can he be? He wants to be himself not who he used to be. He’s hoping the small town he knew growing up will help him better than any therapist ever could. He didn’t care if he’s destined to ski only the bunny trails, at least he’s back on the slopes. Then he meets this gorgeous woman, who for the first time in forever stirs something in him. Has destiny brought them together so Liz can help mend his broken heart? Will he be able to keep her safe in the process?
To find out how they reconcile their pasts you’ll have to read CAUGHT BY THE BLIZZARD. It does end on a cliffhanger of sorts, thankfully SAVED BY THE BLIZZARD is ready to be read now… I’m off to read it! Adele has written an extremely intense new adult, romantic suspenseful thriller. This is written as a dual POV by the strong willed characters. It’s set in Colorado during the winter season in a skiing town around the Christmas holiday. Snuggle up under the covers or by the fire and sit back and get ready for the ride. The complete series is now available. Due to sexual and adult language and situations such as violence this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Saved by the Blizzard (Tellure Book 2) by Adele Huxley
•The Terror Continues
What a great continuance of Liz and Bryan’s story. This poor couple have been through hell and back emotionally and physically before they even arrive at the nightmare that awaits them while they’re trying to put their lives back together in Tellure Hollow.
Liz and Bryan have escaped Rick for now, but know he’s out there and coming for her. Liz’s best friend Kayla just cannot seem to get it through her head that Liz wants nothing to do with Rick, or that he’s bad news and out to hurt her. Kayla thinks Rick and Liz have just had a misunderstanding and can “talk it out”… Liz helped put him in prison to gain some space and time for herself to try and figure out how to get her life back on track, yeah he doesn’t want to just talk. He wants retribution for her helping the prosecution lock him up. Who’s side is Kayla really on? Noah is definitely helping and on Rick’s side, thankfully Liz has Bryan. But will he stick around after he finds out the complete truth?
Bryan is starting to get his life back on track, but still hasn’t told Liz about his past. Will Liz stick with Bryan after she finds out his past and who he really is or will she go running back to the mountain? And what will happen to the life he’s building if she does? You’ll have to read SAVED BY THE BLIZZARD to find out.
Adele has written an extremely intense new adult, romantic suspenseful thriller with lots of twists and turns adding the way. This is written as a dual POV by the strong willed characters. It’s set in Colorado during the winter season in a skiing town around the Christmas holiday. Snuggle up under the covers or by the fire and sit back and get ready for the ride! 🌙 Excerpt 🌙

Blackness surrounded him, its endless pools of ink swallowing him whole. He couldn’t see his hand in front of his face, but he felt the terror seeping through his skin, past his bones and making its way down to his very soul.

James knew he was in the throes of one of his nightmares again. He could never make out a thing, just knew the feeling it left him with.

He tried to make himself wake up, but couldn’t find his way out. The feeling that someone was coming for him caused panic to swell and his heart to accelerate, threatening to break free from his chest.

Not knowing what was coming, fear lacerating his insides, James started to run blindly. In his bed, his feet kicked out wildly, tangling in the linens and ratcheting up his terror, because to James, he was trapped.

His breathing labored and coming in short, sharp bursts, James cried out at the same time his body bolted upright in the bed. Sweat beaded on his brow and dampened his skin, his clothes suctioned to his body uncomfortably. He was clammy and winded, shaken, but he already felt better for knowing he was free from that awful feeling of suffocating terror that had threatened to overtake him just moments ago.

Scrubbing his hands down his face, James breathed deeply, hanging his head to his chest while his body calmed. As his adrenalin levels normalized, and he began to feel more like himself, James gave a final sigh of relief. Stabbing his fingers through his hair, he was readying himself to try to go back to sleep when he looked up and choked on his breath.

His entire body went rigid in an instant. His breathing, his heartbeat. Everything ceased to work. In the next instant James threw himself back against his headboard, fear gripping him once again.

He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He would chance rubbing his eyes to be sure his vision was true, only he was too frightened of what he would find once he opened them again.

BURIED SECRETS by J.C. Valentine
•Full of Twists and Turns
Definitely full of intriguing mystery around each corner. You think you have an idea about what’s going on, but in the end it’s like life do you really know?
After leaving Oakridge, the town he’d grown up in and moved away to Ohio James was happier, until his father moved them back. There were too many memories he’d buried about this place, he just wanted out and never to return. This is definitely not a love story, but well a well written suspenseful mystery. J.C. Valentine can write ant genre and you’re sucked in waiting to see what happens next. I received an ARC via IndieSage in exchange for an honest blog tour review.

Excerpt

In the backseat his dog, Hexa, whined. She could see the yard. He let her out, and she rolled around in the grass. At least she’d be happy here. He opened his trunk and stared at the house. The waves crashed behind it, and the air smelled of salt. Yeah. He’d love it here.

The house was three stories, painted a soft yellow with green accents. Three porches framed the massive stairway that lead to the front door. Most of the houses on Folly Beach had garages under the house and the front door on the second floor.

Before heading up the stairs, he stepped back and snapped a few pictures with his camera. That would be for him. To document his time here. He hoped this would be a good several months. They’d be hard, but rewarding. He looked down at the paper in hand. Bethany Davis was his new roommate.

He left Hexa in the yard and headed up the stairs to the double glass front doors. No privacy there. He rang the bell and saw a flurry of movement, and the door opened. He found himself face-to-face with a woman who was five foot nothing, with ice blue eyes and a messy brown knot on the back of her head. She must be Bethany. Her wide eyes opened even wider when she looked him up and down and checked out his two suitcases. She was cute, but not his type. Thank goodness. He couldn’t afford distractions, and in spite of his recent efforts, he wasn’t too good at avoiding them.

“Um, come in,” she finally said. “The bedroom is around the corner.” She wouldn’t look him in the eye, and he was instantly curious. Her posture indicated confidence, but the lack of eye contact did not.

He whistled for Hexa and dragged his two suitcases into the house. He waited for his dog and then shut the door. She made a beeline for Bethany, and jumped up on her, putting her paws her shoulders. Dobermans weren’t heavy, forceful dogs, but Hexa was tall. His cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Good way to meet his new roommate. She’d be liable to kick him out now.

He dropped his suitcases to rescue her. To his surprise though, she was laughing, and instead of pushing Hexa away, she got on the ground to play. She didn’t even look up at him.

He glanced down, and without meaning to, right into her shirt. She had nice cleavage, but he closed his eyes. He did not come to Charleston to get involved with another woman. Besides, she totally wasn’t his type. He preferred his women tall and blonde. At least that’s what he told himself. Maybe Miss Bethany would be more distracting than he originally thought.

“Are you okay with her? I’m going to put the suitcases in the bedroom.”

She nodded and pointed to the open door, off the foyer.

The old house had white pinewood floors and light blue walls. It seemed to have a beach theme, with shells scattered on the side tables. An old southern staircase led up to the third floor.

He hauled his suitcases into the bright and spacious bedroom with a balcony. His face fell when he saw the bed though. It was a tiny daybed, clearly meant for a child. There was no way his six-foot-four body would fit on it. He snapped a few pictures of the room and sent a quick text to his assistant. She’d order him something decent to sleep in.

Hexa barked, and he went out to investigate, but both Hexa and Bethany were gone. He walked past the stairs and into a living room. In the kitchen Bethany was sitting on the floor with Hexa, doing tricks for treats.

“She’s well-trained,” Bethany said, keeping her eyes on the dog. This would not do at all. He couldn’t live with her if she wouldn’t even look at him. Well, he could, but it wouldn’t be very fun.

“Yeah, she is.” He crouched down next to Hexa in the hopes that he could at least get another glimpse of Bethany’s eyes.

She kept her hands and gaze on Hexa. “It was nice of you to bring in Jamie’s stuff for her. Is she here yet?”

He creased his eyebrows. “I’m Jamie.”

Bethany continued to pet Hexa and then stood slowly. She opened and closed her mouth. Then she looked him in the eyes for the first time. Her pupils were huge, nearly causing the blue to disappear. “I’m sorry. I told the agency I would only accept females. I think there has been a misunderstanding. You can’t stay here.” She reached around him and reached for her phone.

He grabbed her hand. The one with the phone. He needed to reassure her that he wasn’t dangerous. Her hand was ice cold, and she sucked in a hard breath.

FOLLY AND FOREVER (Omega Mu Alpha Brothers #3) by Kimberly Loth
Hexa
Intriguing story! Bethany was extremely shy and couldn’t talk to men, even at her job that sometimes requires it. After her parents death, she finds herself in a major bind. In order to keep the house she grew up in and it not being sold due to back taxes to her neighbor Mrs. Calhoun whom wants it only to expand her rose garden. She’s forced to take on a roommate. Her one stipulation is the occupant has to be female. However after accepting a 6 month advance payment (that paid the back taxes), she comes face to face with photographer Jamie Green, who is most definitely NOT female!
Jamie comes to South Carolina to see for himself that his ex left town pregnant with his child 6 years go. Jamie hasn’t seen his son Garrett yet, but that is about to change. He never knew Zoe was pregnant, or had their child. That’s unacceptable and now he’s gong to meet his son, and take custody of him if necessary.
Jamie wants to help Bethany, and after getting himself in a bind while in court, Bethany can help him too. Will their contract turn into something neither of them expected, will they actually fall in love with each other? Or walk away with only half of what they started with? You’ll have to read FOLLY AND FOREVER to find out! I received an ARC via Tasty Book Tours through BookFunnel in exchange for an honest blog tour review.
