Excerpt~

She licked her lips. “Is that an order, detective?”

The corner of his mouth lifted. “A request.”

When his gaze slid to her lips, Ashley felt the tingling in the pit of her stomach move lower.

He stepped closer until his shoes brushed the tips of hers. “Twice in two days.”

She could smell the musky male scent of him, sexy and pungent. “What?”

“It’s the second time in two days we’ve run into each other,” Nick said.

“Coincidences,” Ashley said.

“Or a sign you should go out with me.”

Oh, how she wanted to. It would be easy to give in to him, to slide her hands up his firm chest, and lose herself in his embrace. In heels, she was only a few inches shorter, and her mouth was dangerously close to his.

She sucked in a breath. “I told you, I can’t.”

“Can’t or won’t?”

“It’s the same thing.”

“It’s not, and you know it.” He leaned closer, and his warm breath brushed her face. “You can’t tell me you don’t feel what’s happening.”

She lifted her chin and stared at warm brown eyes. “I don’t.”

“Liar.”

Q&A with Maria K. Alexander

~~ How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

This is the third book in my award-winning Tangled Hearts series. Each book is a stand-alone story focusing on different members of the DiFrancesco family. I created the family when I wrote my very first book (the one under my bed J). The heroine from that unpublished book is best friends with Kate DiFrancesco, who is the spirited heroine from Untangle My Heart, the first book in the series. I like to think of the series as a nod to my Italian background. The stories are rich in tradition, many of which are part of my own Italian upbringing. Nick DiFrancesco, the hero from Awaken My Heart, is the oldest DiFrancesco and his story is my favorite to date. I’ve loved his character from the start and thoroughly enjoyed writing his happily-ever-after! Nick is recently divorced from a popular girl he dated on and off in high school. She was popular, shallow, obnoxious…basically everything Ashely (the heroine from Awaken) isn’t…which is why she’s perfect for Nick!

~~ Name three things on your desk right now.

Coffee cup, to do list, The Pocket Book of Positives (we can all use a lift each day!)

~~ What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

Reading, baking, Jazzercise, relaxing at the shore (beach), watching a movie with my family

~~ A la Twitter style, please describe your book in 140 characters or less.

Can she right a wrong & chance losing her heart to the man she deceived? AWAKEN MY HEART #TBR #mustread http://bit.ly/2p55aLA

~~ What are you favorite types of stories to read?

Reunion/second chance at love, friends to lovers

~~ What 5 things should readers know about you?

I’m goal-oriented, driven, a perfectionist, think cake is an acceptable breakfast food, played the piano from 3rd to 12th grade.

~~ Can you tell us about your upcoming book?

It’s a second-chance at love romance set in Philadelphia. Detective Nick DiFrancesco is down on his luck. His drug-trafficking case went cold, his kids blame him for his divorce, and he’s one step-away from moving in with his parents to save money. When he runs into Ashley O’Neil, a girl he had an affair with over fourteen years ago, he’s reminded of their steamy night together and wants to see her again. Little does he know she’s kept a secret from him—one that impacts him where it counts most…family. But when a lead in his case puts him in Ashley’s path, they’ll need to set aside their painful past in order to fight for justice and risk it all for love.

Excerpt~

“Living forever’s only fun if you truly live.”

That jab stung. Because it was the same riff the guys threw at him, over and over again. “I live. I just follow the rules. Obey the speed limit. Turn off my phone before the plane starts to taxi.”

Summer tossed her cloud of hair back. Gave him a knowing look. No, a knowing smirk. “Oh, I get it now.”

“What?”

“You’re not uptight. You’re chicken.”

The woman had crossed a line. He’d gone through wilderness training and survival training. He’d climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. Become a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He’d pushed himself to physical and mental limits most men wouldn’t be able to attain. Being sensible? In no fucking way was it comparable to being scared.

Riley’s long strides ate up the distance between them. Furious, he spat out, “You want me to try something risky?”

“Yes. Just once. But I don’t think you’ve got the balls,” she taunted.

Riley grabbed her face with both hands. Her lips parted in surprise. And he swooped right onto them.

Her lips were soft. So soft and pliable it almost deterred him. But then . . . they were so soft and pliable that he couldn’t possibly stop. Instead of holding her still, his hands curved to cup the back of her head, his thumbs caressing those impossibly high cheekbones that gave her the look of someone made to walk a runway.

Riley nipped at her wide bottom lip. Soothed it with a stroke of his tongue that savored the sweet, lingering tang of the orange cream cheese icing on the cinnamon rolls from brunch. He wanted to keep going. To nip and bite and lick down her neck, over the side of the breasts she flashed at him all day. To gobble down her sweetness and spice just like he had those rolls.

Her moan refocused him. This wasn’t just following through on a dare anymore. This was a real kiss. A real moment of pure, physical pleasure. So he dropped his hands to the small of her back and hauled Summer tight against him.

Thanks to her ridiculous—and ridiculously sexy—high heels, everything lined up right. The notch between her thighs ground right against his dick behind the suddenly too-tight fly of his shorts. Breasts plumped against his chest. Breasts he was pretty sure he could fit entirely into his mouth . . . since he might have pictured them a time or ten since meeting her in the spring. Tight nipples insistently poked at his pecs.

The kiss kept going. Ry slipped his tongue in as she let out a kittenish purr. God, it was the sexiest sound he’d ever heard. The soft, tiny mewl fired through his blood. Fired him up. His tongue tangled with hers. Like they were two swords, fencing for the win. Because there would damn sure be a winner. The way they were grappling at each other? It wasn’t just fun. It was about proving something.

Her mouth—made for kissing. And more. His tongue slid deep. Felt her wetness. And Riley couldn’t help imagining how all that warm wetness would feel locked around another part of his body. Summer’s hands came up to fist in his shirt. Shit—for a second, he worried she’d push him away. But then those fists pulled him even closer. One smooth calf twined around his. He wanted to walk her back ten steps to the nearest tree and just sink into her.

Which was crazy. Riley didn’t even like this woman. He’d kissed her to save his pride. To defend his honor. To get her off his back. And now he wanted to put Summer on hers, spread her thighs, and—

That was it. Riley let go. Let go of the sweet ass he didn’t even remember moving down to squeeze. Let go of those luscious lips. Yanked his head back and deliberately stepped out of the semicircle of her curved leg.

“You and I both know that was the riskiest damn thing I could possibly do today.” Riley looked at her still unfocused eyes, her kiss-swollen lips. Proof that she’d enjoyed it every bit as much as he had. “Oh, and you also know now that I’ve got the balls. I’ve got the whole package.”

Tasty Q&A with Christie Barth

~~ If you had a theme song, what would it be?

“I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy” from the musical South Pacific.

~~ Name one thing you won’t leave home without.

Lipstick. Seriously. Even to go to the gym. Even when I used to leave at 5 a.m. to drive for 8 hours across the desert to get to college (while my BFF made fun of me all the way), I’d be fully made up. You never know who you might run into. Looking good makes me feel good. Oh, and the brighter color, the better!

~~ If you could trade places with anyone for just one day, who would you be?

The Duchess of Cambridge. Because in actuality, I don’t want to have my most important contribution in life to be birthing an heir. But I do want to wear a tiara for a day and have someone at my beck and call. I think it’d be fabulous. Or at least, the clothes would be….

~~ A la Twitter style, please describe your book in 140 characters or less.

Sexy. Sassy. Funny. Heartfelt. You’ll fall in love with the characters while watching them do it. True love makes everything better.

~~ What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?

I love, love, love the flirt scenes. If I could write a book that is 100% witty banter and zero drama, I’d be thrilled. Oh, wait. I also love bromance scenes. The depth of friendship (or, in my next series, Bad Boys Gone Good, actual brotherly love) that shines through ordinary exchanges can be so magical and heartwarming.

~~ Tell us all about your main characters—who are they? What makes them tick? Most importantly, what one thing would they need to have with them if stranded on a desert isle? 😉

Summer lives in the moment – to a crazy extent. It’d be a spoiler to tell you why, but let’s just say she has a reason to appreciate every second more than the average person. She’d need to take an absolutely fabulous sun dress to the island. Riley is uber-careful, thanks to a horrific experience in high school with his best friends. He’s willing to try lots of things, from climbing glaciers to scuba-diving, but only after taking every possible precaution and calculating every possible bad outcome. So he’d probably take water purification tablets. Unless he knew that Summer would be on the island with him. Then he’d take condoms.

~~ Where did the inspiration for this book come from?

Here’s the flat out truth – I was more than a little tipsy when the idea for my Naked Men series originated. I was at a wine tasting at Fleming’s Steakhouse (twenty-five wines in two hours – hence the tipsiness!). The idea of a series revolving around five guys who share a blog seemed like a winner. Okay, lots of hysterical things seemed like a winner that night, but this one really had legs. Like the wine (that’s a joke only for wine snobs, but I promise they’ll be ROFL over it). Obviously the guys all had to be different. I still have the paper with the original scribbled ideas: the jock, the jerk, the manwhore, the smooth talker, the big business tycoon. Then I drank more cabernet. You know – to celebrate having an awesome idea!

So the next day – after much water was consumed – I had to figure out how to turn a fun idea into a book. Because five guys typing a blog post on their laptops is, in fact, not a viable idea. The incredibly talented Sue Grafton said, “Ideas are easy. It’s the execution of ideas that really separates the sheep from the goats.” Now, I’m not sure what makes being a sheep that much better than a goat, seeing as how I could eat goat cheese all day long. But you get the point. The hard part is the execution.

There had to be drama (don’t worry – there is lots of sex, too). So I turned the five guys into high school friends who survived a near-fatal accident. The three days they spent struggling to survive turned them into the men who became my heroes. It turned Riley Ness, the hero of Trying It All, into a safety-obsessed NTSB agent.

~~ Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

They say ‘write what you know’. And I did that. I used to be an actress, and I wrote a backstage romance. I used to be a wedding planner, so I wrote a four book wedding planning series. But I’m on book #24 now – readers would be bored to tears if I kept writing only what I know.

~~ Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?

OMG, yes – you almost can’t shut me up when I get near an aspiring writer! Treat it like a job, not a hobby. You’ve had your entire life to write your first book – but your publisher may want your second book in only four months. You need to set that discipline now. Remember the old saying ‘dress for the job you want, not the job you have’? Well, write for the job you want. Write as though you already have three contracts. Set a daily or weekly word count and force yourself to stick to it. You can still have fun, but you need to take writing seriously to turn it into a career. If you watch Twitter and Facebook, most romance authors are writing 6-7 days a week. Despite illness, kid drama, broken air-conditioning, you name it. The words do not write themselves.

~~ Can you tell us about your upcoming book?

My next release after Trying It All is Bad For Her, book 1 in the Bad Boys Gone Good series. Three big city, bad boy brothers hiding from their mobster pasts struggle to fit into a small town but danger follows, putting their new futures – and their new relationships – at risk. There is a lot of sexy fun to be had with WITSEC (not that the US Marshals service puts it that way) and fish out of water scenarios…not to mention the angst of lying to everyone you know about everything 24/7. That, um, complicates a burgeoning romantic relationship, I promise you!

Trying It All: A Naked Men Novel by Christi Barth
•Fear
Although there are other stories within this series this is the first one I’ve read, and my first Christi Barth novel. Each story is about one of the men who survived a tragedy together in high school and could be read in any order. You could read just one, however I hope I get a chance to read the stories about the other Naked Men. Sometimes what comes out of tragedy is something so precious it makes us come out of our comfort zone, it’s not easy, but then again those things in life that we have to work for are usually those things that make life worth living. This is an emotional series, it shows that sometimes our first impression of someone is completely off base, we can’t choose when our heart decides its time to love but that taking that chance on love is the push we really need in life. The banter between Summer and Riley is hilarious…. Talk about opposites attract 🙂 What a great story! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours and Random House Publishing Group- Loveswept through NetGalley for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older!

As the co-owner of Bayside Resorts, Rick Savage has a fabulous job working with his best friends and brother, and a thriving business in Washington, DC, which he’ll be returning to at the end of the summer. Spending time with his family is great, but being back on Cape Cod has unearthed painful memories. When sweet, smart, and overly cautious Desiree Cleary moves in next door, Rick is drawn to the sexy preschool teacher, and she just might prove to be the perfect distraction.

Running an art gallery was not in preschool teacher Desiree Cleary’s plans, but after being tricked into coming to her impetuous, unreliable mother’s aid, she’s stuck spending the summer with the badass half sister she barely knows and a misbehaving dog. If that’s not frustrating enough, she can’t escape the sparks igniting with her strikingly handsome and pushy neighbor, Rick, who makes all her warning bells go off.

Passion ignites as Desiree and Rick spend long summer nights sharing heartfelt confessions and steamy kisses. For the first time in years Rick is enjoying life again instead of hiding behind mounds of work miles away from his family. Desiree has touched him in a way that makes him want to slow down. Only slowing down means dealing with his demons, and he isn’t sure who he’ll be when he comes out the other side.

Excerpt ~

Oh shit. Rick Savage beached his craft, threw his life vest onto the sand, and ran after the woman he’d soaked. He’d been so captivated by the curvaceous blonde that when she’d started to leave, his first instinct had been to stop her. He’d clearly lost his mind. He knew better than to come that close to the jetty or to fishtail near people.
“I’m so sorry,” he said, jogging over as she stepped off the rocks and onto the beach.
She turned, mouth gaping, strands of wet hair stuck to her cheeks, forehead, and shoulders. The most beautiful green eyes stared back at him in shock and horror. He felt like a total ass.
“I’m sorry. I saw you watching me, and—” There was absolutely no excuse for what he’d done, so he went with the truth, no matter how bad it sounded. “I wanted to meet you before you took off.”
“I wasn’t watching you.” Her eyes darted around them, as if someone else might hear her lying.
He cocked a brow.
“Okay, maybe I was for a second. But you were stalking me.” She swiped at her sundress, which clung to her incredibly sexy body like a second skin.
He tried not to leer, but damn…
Forcing his eyes up, he said, “I wasn’t stalking you—”
Her deadpan stare stopped him from telling his own lie.
“Okay, fine,” he said with a laugh. “I was. You caught me. I’m sorry.”
“Does this usually work for you? Drenching unsuspecting women?” she said with a hint of annoyance, and a smile, as she shook the water from her arms. “Not that I’m an expert on being hit on, but it doesn’t seem like the best way to go about it.”
“I’m sure you get hit on all the time, but this wasn’t planned. It was a stupid mistake. It’s actually illegal to go that fast near the jetty, so you can have me arrested if you’d like. I wasn’t thinking. I was—”
She arched a brow, a slight smirk playing across her beautiful face as she tossed his mannerism right back at him.
He felt himself smiling. Man, this woman was as sweet as she was spunky. “What can I say? If you weren’t so hot…”
“So, it’s my fault?” She rolled her eyes. “You really do kind of suck at picking up women.”
The caveman in him grunted, and he squared his shoulders. “I don’t suck at it. I’m actually really good at it. A pro. A master. A champion.”
She laughed. “Sorry, but…” She waved at her wet clothes. “Evidence proves otherwise.”
And I’m about to prove that evidence wrong. “Let me buy you a sweatshirt and something warm to drink at Mac’s so you don’t freeze.” Mac’s was a walk-up restaurant by the Wellfleet Pier, a five-minute drive by car. Less by Jet Ski.
Her eyes rolled over his face, as if she were considering it. He’d never had anything close to a poker face, which meant she saw his remorse and his attraction. At six two, two thirty, he was a big dude, and he kept in prime shape with running and water sports. He was used to women ogling him and practically doing cartwheels to get his attention. She drew in a deep breath, her eyes dropping to his bare chest, and she bit her plump lower lip. “Sexy” didn’t begin to describe the dichotomy of sweet and sultry this woman possessed. But she wasn’t doing cartwheels. In fact, those hungry eyes shifted away from him.
“It’s okay,” she said. “I was getting ready to leave anyway.”
She was blowing him off? There was no way he was letting her leave without doing something to make up for this debacle. Okay, maybe he also wanted to strip away those wet clothes and warm her up. But that was beside the point.
“Are you staying at a cottage on the beach? I can give you a ride on my Jet Ski.”
“As tempting as that sounds, since I’ve never been on one, I have my car.” She pointed to the parking lot with the hand that held her phone, and her smile faded. “Oh, shoot. My phone got wet.”
“I can take care of that.” He took it from her and wiped it on his shorts. She watched his hands, his biceps, his pecs, his shorts, with laser focus. His fish wasn’t off the line yet. “It should be okay now. Want me to put my number in your contacts? In case you change your mind about that drink?”
That brought a curious smile. He noticed the cutest dimple beside her mouth when she smiled. “Does that usually work?”
“No idea. I haven’t had to use that line before.”
He stepped closer, unable to resist brushing a lock of hair that was stuck to her cheek away from her face so he could see her better. Their eyes connected, and the temperature spiked. She must have felt it, too, because she was licking her lips like a hungry tigress. In the next breath, her eyes darted nervously around the beach. Christ, now she looked sweet and innocent. How did she do that in the blink of an eye? Rick was only at the Cape for a few more weeks, working on renovations at the resort before returning to his real life, and design-build business, in Washington, DC. The thoughts running through his mind were not sweet and innocent. He should let his apology ride, get on his Jet Ski, and drive away. But she had his rapt attention, and he was unable to walk away.
“You don’t have to use my number,” he said. “But you never know. Maybe when you’re lying in bed tonight, unable to stop thinking about me, you’ll wish you had it.”
Her cheeks flushed, and those sparkling green eyes moved over his face and down his chest again, lingering long enough to send a stroke of heat to his core.
“Why not?” she said, surprising the hell out of him. “Go ahead and put your number in my phone…?”
“Rick.” He entered his contact information and handed it back, curling his fingers over hers and holding them for a beat.
Her eyes flicked up, dark and alluring. “I’m Desiree,” she said a little breathlessly.
Oh yeah, you feel it, too.

Review~
Bayside Desires (Bayside Summers Book 1) by Melissa Foster

Another fantastic series starter! Bayside Desires was an emotional story. I laughed, chuckled, smiled, definitely got frustrated along with Desiree, and cried along with Rick. I loved their combined stories. To find out how they connected you’ll have to read Bayside Desires. Excerpt ~
A few days later, Rachel did something for Cole that she’d never done for a man before.

She made him a lasagna.

Then she knocked on his door and waited.

And waited.

While she was debating whether to leave it on the porch or come back later, the door finally opened.

“What do you want?” he demanded.

He was just as hot—and grumpy—as she remembered. She figured he was about thirty, but there was a deep groove between his eyebrows from when he knit them together…like he was doing now.

“I made an extra lasagna.” She held it toward him. “Thought you could use it. With moving, you probably haven’t had time to cook.”

He looked at her for a moment, confusion etched on his face. “You brought me food?”

“Small-town hospitality.”

“This was a mistake,” he muttered.

“Come on. It’s just a fucking lasagna.”

A hint of a smile appeared on his face, and she felt a prickle of heat between her legs.

And also, strangely enough, on her cheeks. This was not the way she usually reacted to a man, especially when all he was doing was smiling—barely.

He was wearing a pair of black athletic shorts and a gray T-shirt that stretched across his broad chest. His hair was a touch wet, the dark strands clinging together. He must have showered not too long ago. She felt like she was getting a glimpse into his private world, the one he tried so hard to keep people out of.

Maybe he’d taken so long to answer the door because he needed to make himself presentable. Maybe he hadn’t been wearing a shirt… Now that was a pleasant thought.

She wanted to get closer to him, wanted to pull him against her and kiss his mouth, feel his chest against hers, his breath on her neck.

She jerked the lasagna in his direction. “Take it.”

He took it from her hands. Unfortunately, he didn’t touch her in the process.

“You can return the casserole dish when you’re done. No rush. If you don’t want to talk to me when you give it back, just leave it on my porch.”

“How thoughtful of you to notice I don’t like human interaction. What gave it away?”

She reached out and brushed her thumb over his hand, which gripped the lasagna. Might as well make it clear what she wanted.

And once she’d touched his rough skin, she yearned to touch the rest of him even more than before, to get her hands all over this man who was so unlike all the other guys she knew. Despite his standoffish nature, there was something about him that drew her in.

“Surely you don’t hate all human interaction,” she said in a sultry voice.

“Pretty close to all of it. It rounds down.”

She wasn’t sure he got what she was hinting at. But then his gaze slid down her body. And oh God, the way he checked her out, ever so briefly…she was practically blushing. How embarrassing. She never blushed.

Review~
Tempting Her Neighbor by Laura Jardine
•Choices
You never know what will into your heart when you finally decide you’re going to live out what you’ve always wanted to. Fate has a funny way of slamming that perfect person into your life when it’s the least convenient. However that doesn’t give that slam any less of an impact. The choice is to stay with the one you have just found who somehow embedded themselves into your heart, or leave and follow your dreams. It has to be one or the other doesn’t it, or could there be another option? You’ll have to read Tempting Her Neighbor to see how Cole and Rachel’s story turns out. It’s a pretty quick read, but full of super steam. Due to sexual situations and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSage through NetGalley for an honest blog tour review.

Excerpt~
“You must think I’m stupid,” she whispered.
No, he certainly did not.
She was well spoken. She had a mind of her own and a questioning stare that told him there was a hell of a lot hidden beneath her exterior. He was not going to underestimate her in anything.
“I don’t,” Connor said.
“Then answer my question. You’re a man, so what do you want from me? They always want something; from the very start, each one has wanted something. I’ve filled a void, been used to enjoy, and even to be taught. I’ve been treated like a plaything to some, and like a sweetheart to others. What is your move?”
Connor damn near choked on his next question trying to get it out, “And how many has there been?”
She didn’t even think about it. “Seven, over the years.”
“All Russian?”
“The first one was not; he had a wife who liked me, and had three boys of her own, but no girls. He was just there to keep me, until I was passed on again. I was eleven when the wife left—I was passed on the next day.”
“What then?”
That spark of fire was back in her eyes. “What do you think?”
“I think you’ve misunderstood my intentions,” Connor murmured.
Evelyn tipped her head to the side, and her gaze dropped to his groin again. “Did I also misunderstand being in your bed, what you were doing in the shower, or the sounds you made at the end?”
Cac.
She had spied on him.
“I have to call that friend,” Connor said, refusing to indulge her further. “You should find something to wear that covers you.”
“I don’t think you mind.”
“I don’t, but I won’t be held accountable for reacting in an unpleasant way to an arsehole move from my guest.”
Evelyn’s lips curved into a sly, sensual smile.
It was shocking.
Beautiful, but shocking.
Men may have used her for what they wanted, but he fully believed there was a part of Evelyn that was more dangerous than she let on.
“That’s a new one.”
Connor’s jaw clenched. “What is?”
“Jealousy. I’ve never had one that was jealous before.”
Perfect. Just feckin’ grand.
“I’m not … one—an owner, whatever—of those,” Connor said, more irritated than before. “You will do well to figure that out and fast, Evelyn. You will do well to stop trying to figure out what game you need to play to please me; you’re not here for that.”
“Then why am I here?”
Honesty was the best policy …
“I don’t know yet.”
He finished getting dressed, and the whole time, Evelyn never left him in private. As he passed her by to make that phone call and get something to eat for breakfast, her soft voice stopped him again.
“But why don’t you touch me?” she asked. “Even those who were not terrible, still wanted that from me.”
Connor looked down at her, and found she was watching him, curious and unashamed. “I told you why, love. It’s not for me to take, and if you want that, then you can ask for it.”
“I don’t understand, and I’m not sure what to do or how to act for you, if you want nothing from me. I’m not sure who to be here.”
“That’s a sad idea, isn’t it? That you have to be something at all, and not just a person, a woman.”
Her gaze dropped. “I don’t know anything different.”

Excerpt

“This was fun,” I murmur as his fingers coast over my cheek.

He tucks a lock of hair behind my ears and traces my jaw. It’s been a year since a man has touched me. And no one has ever caressed me like this. It’s like he’s trying to memorize my features. I’m enthralled. It’s hard to know what to do next, so I clutch my hands in my lap and stare at him. His eyes lock on my lips and I realize I’ve seized the lower one between my teeth.

His breath hisses out on a soft sigh. “Do you have any idea how sexy you are?”

“No.” It’s not the default word anyone uses when describing me.

“You are.”

How many women has he used this line on? Hundreds surely. He’s a player. A guy you sleep with not someone you date.

At the moment I’m standing at the line that separates the woman I am and the woman guys like Zach sleep with a few times and never call again. I can listen to my body and have several amazing orgasms to relive over and over, or I can listen to my heart, stay true to who I am and keep looking for a guy who can make me happy long term.

His fingers curve around the back of my neck. As he draws me forward, I ask, “Are you going to kiss me again?”

“I’d very much like to.”

This time his kiss is more direct. Firm and determined, he claims my lips and as his tongue darts forward, I open for him. He tastes like the striped peppermint candy we snagged on our way out of the restaurant.

The kiss quickly goes nova. Heat explodes in my midsection and lances downward as Zach’s hand curves over my knee. I clutch his shoulder, trembling with longing. Phrases spill through my mind. Naughty things I’d want to say to him. Images of taking him into my mouth again and making him cry out my name as he comes. I’ve forgotten that I’m not the type who has sex in cars. Right now, all I’m thinking is: yes, please, let’s do this.

Our tongues are dueling, my legs are parting and Zach’s hand is riding up my inner thigh when the phone in my lap buzzes with an incoming text. It’s close enough to my happy place that the vibration only adds to my arousal. I moan. Zach drags his lips from mine.

“That’s it, baby. Let me hear it.”

As his other hand dips inside my coat, fingers gliding over my breast, it’s easy to moan again. Damn, he’s good at this. Trembling with need, I bite my lip as the urge to whimper builds. I shift my hips as my clit perks up and starts crying for attention. If he doesn’t touch me there I’ll go out of my mind.

A second text follows the first or maybe it’s just that reminder that I haven’t looked at the first one. Either way, it feels great. So does Zach’s mouth on my neck. And is that his teeth? I open my thighs, silently begging him to go higher. He’s so close. I’m so close.

Buzz.

I’m panting. He’s sucking on my earlobe. Shit. That’s amazing. His thumb grazes my nipple.

Buzz.

Buzz.

The hand beneath my skirt reaches the elastic on my panties and I shift my hips, pushing into his fingers. Can he feel how wet I am? A little higher, please.

Buzz.

Buzz.

The vibration is so constant it’s like a sex toy and I’m so close to getting off. Just a little bit more. His finger brushes over the soaked crotch my panties. The lightest of touch and my body is electrified.

“F**k,” he mutters, tracing over my hot, aching core a second time. “These are soaked.”

A garbled noise emerges from my throat.

Buzz.

Buzz.

Buzz.

Buzz.

And then Zach’s fingers are retreating and I groan in protest. “Um, do you need to get that?”

Get what?

Buzz.

Buzz.

“Oh for f**k’s sake,” I exclaim as Zach removes his lovely, clever hands from beneath my clothes.

He flops back against his seat with a hearty curse. Eyes closed, breathing hard, he shields his face as his shoulders move. Damn the man. He’s laughing.

Snarling, I pick up the phone and see at least a dozen texts from my cousins. Looking over at the house, I spy all three of them lined up at the living room windows. Well, what did I expect? I’m making out with Zach in front of our house. I might as well have set up a neon sign on the front lawn that says orgasms happening here. Almost happening…so close. A growl vibrates my chest.

“Your cousins?”

“Yes.”

The Trouble with Bachelors (Windy City Bachelors Book #1) by Caitlyn Blue
•Panty-Dropping Hotness
This was a cute story that had me not only smiling from the beginning but had me chuckling throughout. There were some frustration issues too, but then that’s how life is. Especially when dealing with a wedding, siblings and friends. AMD maybe some residual high school issues. This was my first Caitlyn Blue book, but I’m looking forward to more stories within this series. Each one will be another couple within their inner circle…. Exciting stuff!
Emma has had a crush on Zach since the first day of being in speech class together in high school. Unfortunately he ends up saying her older sister instead of her. He’s a playboy who prefers short term relationships, while Emma is the long term, forever type. Can these two be just a wedding hookup fling, or will it turn out to be more? You’ll have to read The Trouble with Bachelors to find out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours through Instafreebie for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older!

🎭SYNOPSIS🎭
Sink your fangs into Books 1-3 of the Vampires of London series in one handy bundle. This Vampire Romance collection includes: Alexander’s Blood Bride, Michael’s Soul Mate and Lucille’s Valentine.

Alexander’s Blood Bride
When Cat ends up at a Halloween party hosted by the mysteriously handsome and super rich Alexander Broderick, the last thing she expects is to become the object of his desire. Although she gets spooked and runs, she doesn’t yet understand the extent of his dangerous secret: Alexander, and a number of his guests, are vampires. And Cat’s blood is unlike anything they’ve smelled before…

EXCERPT~
Alexander Broderick stood at the top of the curving stairwell in the center of his Kensington residence, surveying his domain. The party had started at eight sharp, with more guests arriving every few minutes.
His Halloween parties were an age old tradition, even if their grandeur and scale had evolved significantly since the early days. A hundred years ago, he’d been content inviting a few friends and acquaintances, all of them vampire like he was. Now, every year, the event had grown bigger and better, featuring new faces from all walks of life.
Eternity was a very long time to spend in isolation. He craved the change in routine, no matter how hard his maker had tried to discourage him from going overboard in the past. Of course, ever since Julius had taken over the Council leadership, he had other things on his mind than to monitor Alexander’s social life.
Alexander thrived on the attention these parties afforded him. On a night such as tonight, he could step out of the shadows and into normality. Even if some guests noticed strange things around the house, they’d accept it as part of the magic of Halloween. It also helped that he kept the alcohol flowing generously throughout the night.
Tonight was the one night per year that the weird and wonderful became acceptable.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. So many people. So many aromas.
His parties weren’t an excuse to feed as such; no, he could do that any time. But the sheer variety of humankind at his feet was difficult to ignore.
Every vampire in attendance tonight would feel the same way. Alexander smiled as he imagined the depravity that would occur within these walls.
Sex, blood, and rock ‘n’ roll. Alexander couldn’t suppress a chuckle.
They’d keep things clean enough, of course. Everyone here was keen to stretch the rules but not break them. They wouldn’t take things so far as to attract suspicion.
They wouldn’t kill.
Alexander himself would join in the festivities as well. But first and foremost, he enjoyed playing host. He was especially fond of striking up conversations with first-time guests. First he’d figure out how they’d come by an invitation, then he’d guide the conversation toward other topics that interested him.
He was a connoisseur of sorts; like some immersed themselves in fine wines, politics, or even sports, Alexander collected knowledge on the human psyche. Zeitgeist, as some people called it; he loved to learn about that special set of thoughts and ideas that made society tick. In gathering information about how people lived their fleeting lives, he sought to find meaning for his own.
As he slowly started to walk down the stairs, he focused on acting normal; that meant being a lot more clunky and obvious in his movements than his instincts dictated.
He was socializing, not stalking prey!
That was one of the first lessons he’d learned once he started inviting humans to his get-togethers. If you approached them in too stealthy a fashion, they easily got spooked.
Halfway down, his friend Michael nodded a greeting as he passed him by. The much younger vampire wasn’t one to waste time; he’d already found himself two willing females to spend what he liked to call ‘quality time.’ Everyone had certain talents; seduction was his.
Alexander was about to continue down the steps when a presence caught him off guard. He wasn’t sure what it was exactly. A quick scan around the room revealed that all the guests were quite busy entertaining themselves; nobody was looking in his direction.
He sprinted back up the stairs, faster than a human eye could see, and gazed back down to figure out what had affected him so.
The front door swung open and two women entered. One was quite ordinary, and he could hardly tell her apart from the two Michael had just led upstairs. The other, though…
A radiant sight of womanhood.
Her floor length gown was very different from the skimpy outfits everyone else had chosen to wear. Blood red—which in itself would have been enough to entice even the most reclusive vampire among his company.
Raven hair halfway down her shoulder, which swayed with every step she took.
A face flawless, like that of a porcelain doll.
And curves. Her body exuded a richness that made every fiber in his body ache for her.

MY REVIEW
ALEXANDER’S BLOOD BRIDE by Lorelei Moon

•Unexpected
Cat and Shelly were given an exceptional invitation to an exclusive Halloween Party, which meant they had to go shopping for a costume for Cat. No matter how hard Shelly has tried over the years, she hasn’t been able to convert Cat the homebody into the life of the party like herself. But as a celebration to getting her job Cat decides to go anyway. They are shocked at the house they pull up to the mansion.
Alexander not only sees and smells, but feels when she walks into the house. Then he notices everyone else notices her too. He has to get to her before anyone else does. After showing her around the mansion they gravitate to the master suite. Everything is fine, until she removes his mask and looks into his eyes, then she flees the mansion. Shortly afterwards Alexander clears the house telling everyone in attendance the party is over, including the vampires in attendance, which is totally unlike him. What is it with this girl that causes this reaction to him? He finds out later that night when one of the Council visits him to tell him they need to find her because she is an extremely rare human Blood Bride. Alexander knows he wants her, but has to find her to protect her from Julius their maker and the oldest and highest ranking vampire that currently walks the earth.
Cat continues to dream of Alexander, in her dreams it’s revealed he’s a vampire. It doesn’t scare her anymore, but she knows she’s blown her chance with him after running out the way she did on Halloween. But she feels someone watching her, and knows instinctively that Alexander will protect her. Alexander on the other hand has no idea how or where to find her, but knows he needs to get to her before anyone else in the council does. Will they meet up when he has no idea how or where to find her within the city? You’ll have to read ALEXANDER’S BLOOD BRIDE to find out. I enjoyed reading this story and especially enjoyed the audible version, Gethyn Edward did an awesome job to capture the essence of the story! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book, via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review. *It’s the ultimate forbidden romance; the love between a mortal and a vampire. What is it that makes flirting with death so utterly tempting? Read on and find out. This story is intended for adult audiences only. (*directly from book)

Michael’s Soul Mate
Playboy Michael has never wanted to settle down. When he finds a severely injured woman lying in the street, his instincts insist he save her. He turns her into a vampire and takes her home, not realizing that this little random encounter is going to change his immortal life forever.

EXCERPT~
Anna felt a sense of familiarity now that she looked into his eyes. Like she’d seen him somewhere before, even if she had no actual recollection of it. That was silly though, obviously. Her memory or lack thereof was playing tricks on her.
She scooted a little closer to him. He wasn’t so bad after all. And damn, the subdued light from the stars above made him look even more handsome. If that was even possible.
Earlier, he’d kept their eye contact to a minimum. He’d even avoided physical contact, until their outing earlier. Now, her hand rested on the roof just beside his, their little fingers touching. He didn’t pull away, and neither did she.
And he continued to stare into her soul, making her heart beat faster. Was that her heart, though? Did vampires even have heartbeats?
She felt giddy and lightheaded. No matter how quickly he’d brushed it away, she was certain that this gesture meant something more than he was willing to admit.
“Do you come here often?” she asked, then grinned when she realized the cliché.
Michael smiled subtly. “Often enough to recognize a new face.”
This man had an infuriatingly gorgeous smile. To go with his infuriatingly gorgeous face.
Anna’s thoughts were swimming. She found it hard to focus on anything but the curve of Michael’s lips.
“It’s not so bad, this new life,” she mumbled.
His smile widened.
She leaned in, closer and closer. His scent filled her nostrils. Intoxicating and seductive, like an expensive cologne.
Michael similarly leaned toward her until their faces were only an inch apart.
And just like that, without planning to, really, Anna pressed her lips against his.
The heartbeat in her chest seemed to speed up to a high frequency buzz. Her chest filled with—she wasn’t quite sure with what. Excitement. Nerves.
Arousal.
She felt alive, like every one of her was synapses firing at an intensity she wouldn’t have thought possible before. Her whole body was electric, every inch of her skin highly sensitized.
Michael reached for her, slipping his hand behind her neck and cradling her as he returned her kiss. Their tongues collided and fireworks seemed to erupt behind her closed eyelids.
It was so beautiful, she had to fight back tears.
And just like that, it was over. Michael withdrew his hand and pulled away.
Anna opened her eyes in distress. Why? Why did he stop?
“I’m sorry, this isn’t fair on you,” Michael stammered. He refused to look her in the eye.
Had she misread the situation completely? Had he not just brought her here to this incredibly romantic spot and showed her all the beauty that lay at their feet? Had he not just tried to convince her that immortality wasn’t as scary and alien as it had seemed to be at first?
Did he not care for her?
“I’m sorry?”
“I shouldn’t have done that,” he said, shaking his head. “I’m your maker. It’s inappropriate.”
Anna didn’t know what to do or where to look as he got up, dusted off his trousers, and took a few steps away from her. She’d faced rejection in the past, but nothing like this. He’d been into it just now, hadn’t he?
“I don’t understand,” she mumbled, and wrapped her arms around herself protectively.
“Look.” Michael reached for her shoulder, then stopped about an inch away. “I’m really sorry. I got carried away in the moment. This isn’t right. I’ve taken advantage of your situation and I shouldn’t have. This is your first night as a vampire, and you don’t need to be wrapped up in all this.”
Anna frowned. Taken advantage? What the hell was he talking about?
“I kissed you,” she said. “If anyone took advantage—”
Michael shook his head. “No. I’m sorry. I’m going to go inside now. If you need anything, I’ll be in the library.”
Anna’s throat tightened, making it impossible for her to respond. Before she had the chance to regain her composure, he’d walked across to the edge of the roof and climbed down, possibly to enter through a nearby window.
Unbelievable.
She didn’t recall ever being faced with a guy acting this hot and cold around her, but then of course she wouldn’t. She didn’t remember much of anything.
What did it mean?
Anna pulled her legs up, wrapped her arms around them, and rested her chin on top of her knees.
A lot had happened today, and perhaps some peace and quiet was exactly what she needed. Not that it was particularly quiet up here. She could hear traffic, as well as the occasional siren, miles away. She tried to focus on the rustling of fallen leaves being carried by the odd winter breeze in the park.
That kiss, though. Holy hell. Despite the awkwardness of his sudden departure, and the confusion he left her in, she couldn’t get it out of her mind.
Was everything just more intense now that she was no longer mortal? He had overwhelmed her, turned her into a mushy mess of emotions and sensations that felt completely alien. Considering she didn’t have her memory back yet, this was essentially her first ever kiss now. She hated that it had to end so soon.
Although it was probably for the best. She had enough to worry already about without adding relationship issues into the mix.
If a little kiss felt this amazing, then what was sex like?
Anna groaned. She’d be a lot better off banning these speculations from her mind. He wasn’t into her, or at the very least, he didn’t consider her ready, whatever that meant.
And she wasn’t about to throw herself at some guy she’d known all of what—ten hours? Most of those hours she’d been passed out. How could she even know what kind of guy he was?
Plus, she wasn’t that kind of woman.
She might not remember the finer details of her old life, but she was certain of that fact.
Plus, he wasn’t even into her. Or was he?

MY REVIEW
Michael’s Soul Mate by Lorelei Moone
Trouble
Michael felt uncomfortable all evening, but couldn’t figure out why. It wasn’t the party or people that had him feeling this way, he just had a growing uneasiness feeling in his chest that he could no longer ignore. So he left the party earlier than he usually did, alone. While walking on his way home, he found a woman in an alley who had been drained, by another vampire and close to death. Who would do something like this, to someone as beautiful as her? *Killing was against the rules. And discarding a drained body out in public where it could so easily be discovered? That was sacrilege.(direct book quote*). Acting on instinct, he bit his own wrist and put it to her mouth and told her to drink. When she finally did, he bit into her wrist, drinking a small taste of her blood. Which completed the cycle, the Ritual was done. He’d created another vampire—tried to, anyway, they’d know for sure the following night. Now things would forever change.
Anna awoke in a strange room feeling like she’d been hit by a bus, wearing an old fashioned type nightgown with no memory of how she got there, and initially no memory of her own name. Even though the room was dark, she could still clearly see her surroundings, including the details of the picture frame across the room. Her sense of smell was heightened as well. Then she heard the muffled voices of two men, they must be in the next room. Before going to investigate the voices Anna ended up biting her lip, when she looked into the mirror she noticed how much longer and razor sharp her canine teeth were. Had these men done something to her teeth before bringing her there? Her mind must be playing tricks on her, right now she needed to figure out where and why she was there!
When Michael noticed Anna was awake he tried and failed miserably to explain what had happened to her. *Something about her threw him off balance. He’d lost not just his game, but his entire sense of self around her. It was infuriating.(*direct book quote). Anna couldn’t believe what he was telling her, she’s a vampire?!? No way, they don’t exist! Anna is finally starting to get it, but not only does Michael have to teach her how to be a vampire but now they have the people that did this to her in the beginning to worry about.
To find out what happens between Michael and Anna you’ll have to read MICHAEL’S SOUL MATE. I’ve enjoyed reading this series, and cannot wait for book 3 LUCILLE’S VALENTINE in February 2017 to be available. All books, including this one, in the Vampires of London series are standalone and can be read out of order. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book, via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review.

Lucille’s Valentine
Marek the Soul Eater has escaped and it’s Lucille’s job as Enforcer to return him to the Council. She’s not a team player usually, but when she finds Vampire Hunter Valentino Conti also on Marek’s trail, she decides to join forces. The longer they work together, the more their connection grows. What if the truth comes out? What if Valentino realizes Lucille is the very thing he’s been hunting all his life?

EXCERPT~
Valentino stole a glance at Lucille as they left the pub together. What a peculiar young woman. Everything about her, from the way she carried herself to her choice of Scotch signaled that she was an old soul. The fact that she had joined him out here meant that apparently she was fearless as well.
Was she part of the same underground he belonged to? The online message boards, the discussion groups that met virtually to discuss any supernatural activity they had come across. It had been one of those anonymous reports of vampirism that had brought him to London in the first place. Was she active in those circles? Or was her presence here a coincidence?
Her catlike movements as she walked alongside him toward the feeding site suggested she was strong and well trained. She definitely knew how to fight.
He wouldn’t be surprised if she had some hidden weapons somewhere underneath her long coat. He had some too, after all.
When they reached the bin he had inspected on his own earlier, he pulled out the bottle of Luminol again and sprayed the area where he knew the blood to be.
She leaned in closer and followed the direction of the spray pattern with her index finger.
“Interesting.”
Valentino smiled. “As I said, the evidence is right here.”
Lucille stood back and stared at the ground surrounding the area. “It wasn’t much of a struggle, so perhaps the victim came here willingly.”
Valentino raised an eyebrow. “How do you know this?”
Lucille pointed at a very faint muddy footprint which the winter rains had done their best to erase. “If two men had fought here, they would have knocked over some of these bags of rubbish. They would have left smudged prints and scuff marks from their shoes. I don’t see any of that here.”
She turned to face him, her eyes narrow and darting back and forth between him and their surroundings. “Do you think the murderer might have arrived here by train? Or is he a local?”
“I think he is not the sort of man who could travel by train without drawing too much attention to himself. He is the sort who stays in the shadows.”
Lucille nodded, as though she understood him perfectly, even those things he’d left unsaid. She really was peculiar, unlike any woman he’d met before.
Could he risk it?
It had been a long time since he’d ever told an outsider about his calling, and that had backfired spectacularly. Suddenly years of history didn’t matter anymore, and the woman he’d opened up to because he wanted to spend his life with her had simply left.
But this right here was different; there was no history. What did he have to lose?
“There are more things between heaven and earth than most people choose to see or believe…”
Lucille folded her arms as she focused on him. He had her full attention.
“This murderer is not strictly a man,” Valentino added.
“Why. Is it a woman?” she asked, cocking her head to the side.
The peculiar glint in her eye told him that he was on the right track. She was testing him; Valentino would bet his life on it.
“He’s a Nightwalker. A vampire.”
Lucille pursed her lips and glanced at the bin with the blood evidence on it, then back at him. The corner of her mouth twitched in amusement; it was so subtle he would have missed it if he wasn’t paying attention.
“You’re a hunter,” she remarked, as though it was the most natural thing in the world.
He nodded. She knew the terminology. Unless she was the best actress he’d ever come across, nothing he’d told her so far had shocked her in any way.
“You have unusual methods. More like a forensic investigator than a hunter,” she added.
He nodded again. “And your methods? Old school. More like a tracker.”
Lucille smiled briefly. “I favor a more intuitive approach.”
“Have you been at this long?” he asked. He was thirty-four, not old by any stretch of the imagination, but Lucille looked about ten years younger—exceptionally young for someone in their line of work. Perhaps it was a family affair for her, just like it had been for him.
“My entire life,” she said.
Fine, so she wanted to keep things vague. He didn’t mind. Their line of work was lonely and unappreciated for the most part. To run into another hunter was its own reward. He didn’t need anything more than that for now.
“How about you make good on that promise then?” she said. “Of buying me another drink.”
Valentino grinned. If she didn’t look so serious he might have thought she was flirting with him.
They walked back together, and he again marveled at her smooth, deliberate movements, the strong spring in her step. It was a lonely existence; living on the fringes of society, hunting creatures that most people only acknowledged in their nightmares.
The times had changed since his parents and grandparents had been around. Mainstream society no longer believed in the supernatural, as he had so painfully found out in the past. Continuing in their footsteps had earned him a solitary life. It would be a nice change of pace to combine forces with a like-minded soul.
Plus, Lucille was an exceptionally beautiful woman. He would be lying to himself if he thought that she hadn’t affected him on some deeper level. But he’d been at this too long to simply take other people at face value. He still needed to find out if he could trust Lucille.
“Right. Let’s get that drink then,” he said.
MY REVIEW
Lucille’s Valentine (Vampires of London, #3) by Lorelei Moone.
•Heart or Life?
Yet another amazing story by Lorelei Moone! I’ve been lucky to read the whole series so far. I don’t know how she does it, but each one gets better.
Lucille’s an Enforcer to the Vampire Council and has been for centuries. Since Marek escaped from the silver cage (that no ordinary vampire could have done), during his trial for not only killing humans but leaving them where they could easily be found thus potentially exposing ALL vampires. Lucille is ordered to go after him. This time she knows it’s going to be tougher than the first time to entrap him. While tracking Marek she comes across a human hunter who is also tracking Marek. They join forces to bring Marek to justice. However she didn’t count on her feelings from centuries ago coming to the surface. What is it about Valentino that has her actually connecting to a human. Will it cost her her life or her heart… Or maybe it’ll be both?
Valentino knows nothing except being a hunter of Nightwalkers-(vampires). Generations of Conti’s have done this, and he’s the last of them. His latest investigation has brought him to London. Which is where he’s found the intriguingly beautiful Lucille who is hunting the same monster he’s looking for, so they join forces to bring him down together. Does Lucille feel the same way about him as he has since their very first meeting? Or is he destined to always be alone?
To find out how a human hunter of vampires and a vampire work together to bring down a powerful soul eater, you’ll have to read LUCILLE’S VALENTINE. It’s another amazing vampire story! *This story is intended for adult audiences only. This is Book 3 in the Vampires of London series of standalone vampire romances. You can read this series out of order, but if you would like to read Book 1 and 2 first, check out Alexander’s Blood Bride and Michael’s Soul Mate.(* directly from book). Series Review~

I completely enjoyed reading this series, having the books in one is even better! You could read them add standalone novels, but to get the complete picture you need to read them in order and with this set in one you hit the jackpot! Each story is based on one of the vampires but they’re all inner-connected. Well worth the read!! It’s harder to review a series than an individual book because I don’t want to give anything away! I enjoyed reading each story and especially enjoyed the audible version, Gethyn Edward did an awesome job to capture the essence of the story (Book1)! *It’s the ultimate forbidden romance; the love between a mortal and a vampire. What is it that makes flirting with death so utterly tempting? Read on and find out. This story is intended for adult audiences only. (*directly from book 1) I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review.
