Andrew McQuaid wasn’t always the local playboy. Once upon a time, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with one woman-Gia Mancuso. When he made a mistake and lost her, he decided he wasn’t meant to have a happy-ever-after. Now, Gia’s come back to town, with a baby in tow, and it might just mean a second chance at forever, if he can convince her that he never stopped loving her.

Ten years after leaving, Gia finds herself back in Hidden Falls. Between helping her ailing father save the family restaurant and taking care of the baby her sister left on her doorstep, she doesn’t have time for the man who once broke her heart. But Andrew is all grown-up now, in every single way. And the part of her that has always been his can’t quite say no to his tempting kisses.

Just when Gia begins to open her heart, a devastating secret emerges that threatens to destroy her family and any future with Andrew. Are they doomed to repeat the mistakes of their past or can Andrew convince Gia that she’s always been his one and only?

Excerpt~

The soft crunch of gravel jerked her upright as headlights bathed the interior of her car in white light, blinding her. Reports of women being carjacked, kidnapped, or murdered filled her mind, and she hurried to snap the buckle of Bella’s seat again. Dropping the bottle, she lunged forward, attempting to climb over the console into the driver’s seat to get the hell away from whatever killer might be approaching her car.

It took only a few seconds to realize how big a mistake she’d made.

Gia had always been well endowed, but she’d never expected her curves to get her stuck partway between her front and back seats. She wiggled, trying to twist sideways to make it easier to pull her forward. Gripping the edge of the steering wheel, Gia used it for leverage, tucking one knee under her as she tried to force herself through. It was no use. She was hopelessly stuck, now unable to move forward or back. She was a miserable excuse for a guardian and prayed her stupidity wasn’t about to end with her and Bella on tomorrow’s news, murdered on the side of the highway, mere minutes from their destination.

She craned her neck to see the flash of red and blue lights washing through the back window for the car as a thin white beam of light slashed through the window, into her eyes. She held up a hand, trying to make out any of the features of who she prayed was really a cop, even if it meant someone would witness her embarrassing predicament. The back door opened and Gia heard a deep rumble of laughter.

“What brings you back to town, Gia?”

Gia closed her eyes, wishing she could crawl under her car. How was it possible that after nearly ten years of avoiding him, she was now caught in this position by the one man she never wanted to see again, the same one who’d broken her stupidly naïve heart at nineteen?

“Andrew McQuaid,” she muttered to herself. He shone the light on her rear end, and irritation welled. “You think instead of ogling my ass you might actually help me?”

She felt the hands that had carried her to her first heights of ecstasy reach for either side of her hips. The same hands she’d sworn would never touch her again after she found out about that bastard’s cheating ways.

“Hey,” she squealed, trying to squirm away from his touch, willing herself to ignore the way her heart leapt into her throat. “What the hell are you doing?”

“Exactly what you asked me to do. I’m helping you.”

“Not like that!” She swung a hand at him, slapping her own butt in the process, but at least he let go of her.

“How exactly do you propose I help, then?”

“I don’t know. You’re the cop.”

Andrew laughed, still leaning into her car, bent over awkwardly behind her. “Honey, I really don’t see any other way.”

She glared at him over her shoulder. “Don’t call me that.”

“Fine.” Andrew moved into the car, practically sitting in the back seat, and slid one hand through an opening by her waist, in front of her bent knee. The other slid around her calf and managed to pull it out from under her. “There. I’m going to tip your right hip down, but you’re going to have to manage to twist your shoulders to fit… um…” He searched for a polite term he could call her boobs. “… the girls through,” he finished with a chuckle.

Gia felt the rush of heat flood her face. “Let’s just get this over with.”

Andrew’s hands closed on her hips again, practically cupping her right butt cheek in his palm. “Bend your right knee and I’m going to pull on three. One… two… three.”

Gia managed to twist her body as Andrew pulled her backward, and she slid through the space as if she’d never been stuck at all. Andrew dropped into the seat, carrying her with him. Gia landed in his lap with one of his muscular forearms under her breasts, the other hand cupping her inner thigh, sending a blast of heat between her legs. It was the worst reaction she could have ever imagine having.

Until she realized that hard ridge beneath her rear wasn’t his gun.

Risking It All (Hidden Falls #3) by T.J. Kline
·Jealousy
What happens when your younger sister once again not only runs away from her responsibilities, but causes you MORE? You have to go back home to help sort it out. Even though you ran from there over 10yrs ago. Why does her mother not see what her sister continues to do? In her mother’s eyes her sister Lorena could do no wrong, she’s a farfallina, a little butterfly flitting from flower to flower. What a shocking twist at the end that I didn’t see coming! I was frustrated along with Gia, but loved the entire story. To find out why you’ll have to read Risking It All. Although this is the 3rd book within the Hidden Falls Series, each story is its own standalone & so worth the read! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours through Edelweiss for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older!

Review~

Hate 2 Lovers (Book2) by K Webster and J.D. Hollyfield
•Worry
OMG, I started laughing from the first page…. You’ve GOT TO READ THIS STORY!!! Another story I couldn’t put down until I finished, lots of our looks from people at the Dr’s office since I couldn’t help but chuckle. However I do agree with the authors, it’s better to read Text 2 Lovers first, before you start Hate 2 Lovers… You will NOT be disappointed!!! It gives an insight into Roman and Andie’s relationship. The titles to each chapter are so hilariously funny, you can’t wait to read the reason she named it that way. Now I CANNOT WAIT for Thieves 2 Lovers to come out next!!! These two authors are awesome, but together they’re spectacularly awesome!!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older!

~ “Please don’t kick my ass,” Chase says with a nervous chuckle. “You’re like twice my size, and I really like your sister.”
~ Is a rocket launcher too much?
~ But with the help of the man I am about to marry, I realized that true love conquers.

**Note from authors~ We hope you enjoy Andie and Roman’s story! Writing together is an absolute joy for us and we hope that shows! As with Text 2 Lovers, one of us took the hero’s POV and the other took the heroine’s POV. If you read the first book, you’ll remember! We’ll also tell you at the end. It is best if you’ve read Text 2 Lovers first though because you’ll understand the dynamic of Andie and Roman better…plus, you don’t want to miss out on all the laughs from book one! Enjoy and we’ll see you on the other side! K Webster and J.D. Hollyfield (*Directly from book)

Review~
•Unexpected
What a hilarious combination these two authors came up with, it’s awesome! I had a hard time trying to keep my laughs in while hubby tried sleeping next to me. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.
Dani just caught her boyfriend well ex now, with his tongue down his “neighbors” throat. So while slamming drinks at the bar with her best friend Andi she ends up sending a bunch of angry texts to him. However she accidentally sends them to a wrong number instead. The guy that ends up receiving them actually makes her smile and laugh so they continue texting, as well as begin talking at night too.
Ram has been in a slump ever since being set up by his ex, which cost him to lose his job. To top it off, his brother is the one whom had to fire him. Now he’s trying to start his own advertising company, but has had a mental block at what to use for the clients logo. That is until he’s drunk texted by some random lady that actually makes him laugh. After she uses a Princess Bride movie quote it helps him figure out what to use for his client. Ram wants to get to know this person Carrie better and in person, but she’s not ready for that. After the way her ex treated her Ram understands, but texting isn’t enough so he calls to hear her voice and make sure she’s a real person.
The circumstances that align for their unexpected first meeting is hilarious! You’ve got to read TEXT 2 LOVERS to find out how it happens as well as the roller coaster ride of life these two experience. I am sooooo looking forward to more from these two authors together! These two took an approach I haven’t seen or read before, but oh was it wonderful to read. One author wrote the heroine’s POV while the other took the hero’s. You’ll have to read the story to figure out which author wrote which, because trying to figure it out is part of the fun. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR through bookfunnel for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older!

Excerpt~
At this distance, with the width of the landing strip between them, he hadn’t gotten a clear view of her face, but his initial impression was that she was more pretty than beautiful, while her body language exuded a come-sit-by-me friendliness that drew him. She was curvy enough to let him know that she enjoyed a good splurge meal now and again, but she was also healthy and fit. Her skin was tan and supple, her eyes soft and bright, her teeth straight and white. She took good care of herself.

But it was the way she carried herself that totally wrecked him. Confidence mixed with humility. She had an authentic stride full of wholehearted openness. The last person he’d known who’d possessed that special combo was Archer Alzate’s kid sister, Kaia.

He hadn’t seen Kaia face-to-face since she was sixteen and she had attended his and Archer’s graduation from the University of Texas. But two years ago, Archer called him to tell him that while working on her doctorate in veterinarian medicine at Texas A&M, Kaia had been in a terrible car accident and fractured her pelvis. Ridge had flown straight to College Station to see her only to discover she was in a medically induced coma.

The waiting room had been packed with her family and friends, and no one noticed him standing in the doorway. After so much time away he’d felt awkward and misplaced, an outsider. Not wanting to turn Kaia’s accident into a stage for his return, he’d slipped quietly away without speaking to the family. But later he texted Archer to meet him in the parking lot to get an update on Kaia’s condition. Archer gave him the rundown, including the fact Kaia had such a high medical deductible he didn’t know how she was ever going to afford to finish her degree.

Once Ridge knew she was stable and going to pull through, he went to the business office, anonymously paid the fifteen-thousand-dollar deductible toward her medical bills, and swore Archer to secrecy.

Later, when she was out of the coma, he sent flowers and a card and he’d gotten back a kind thankyou note, and their correspondence had ended there. Archer kept his word and Kaia never knew Ridge had come to see her or that he was the one who paid her deductible.

Ridge slipped off his sunglasses for a clearer look at the provocative woman. From the back seat of the Tundra, she extracted an oversized present wrapped in gold foil. The package was so big and the backseat so small. How she’d managed to cram it in?

She tossed her head, a triumphant smile on her face, and turned in his direction. Their gazes met across an empty desert.

For a split second, his heart stopped.

Her obsidian eyes arrested him, a mysterious color that suggested hot summer nights and low, deep-throated whispers. Ripples of recognition jolted his nervous system, both shocking and exhilarating. He knew her.

Kaia Alzate.

Freakadilly circus, he’d been lusting after little Kaia Alzate. Hot for the girl he’d once dubbed the Braterminator.

Ridge coolly slipped his sunglasses back down over his eyes. She’d pestered the hell out of him and Archer when they were kids. Tagging along everywhere they went, tattling if they stepped out of line, and generally being a run-of-the-mill pain-in-the-ass. He might have hidden his eyes from her, but he couldn’t hide the goose bumps spreading over his skin, pushing an insistent heat into his bloodstream as he watched her from behind the safety of the polarized lenses of his aviator Ray-Bans.

Her snapping black eyes sparkled with glee, as an enthusiastic grin split her mouth wide. She had recognized him too, and she looked more than happy to see him.

His gut dove the way it did whenever he’d practiced a stall in pilot training, spinning, whirling, and hurtling headlong toward the earth.

Thank God her hands were full because he had the distinct impression that if she’d been empty-handed, she would have come flying across the tarmac to hug the stuffing out of him.

He didn’t mean to do it, told himself he wasn’t going to do it, but damn if he couldn’t help sliding his gaze over her body. After all, she had no idea what his eyes were doing behind the sunglasses.

Thank you, Ray-Bans.

She moved toward him, arms strapped around the oversized present. Stopped. Cast a glance over her shoulder at the main house. Swung her gaze back to him. She wanted to come over, but didn’t seem to know what to do with the package.

He kept his face unreadable, but gave her a respectful nod. I see you, but no need to rush or gush or make a fuss.

Deliberately, he turned away, telling himself it was to chalk the plane’s tires, and it had nothing to do with the fact his chest was tight and his head fuzzy. And a smile he could not stop was pushing across his face.

He was happy to see her too. So happy it freaked him out.

Once the chalks were in place, and he reined in his galloping pulse, Ridge raised his head, ready to dish up a slick greeting.

But she was gone.

Yay. Great. Perfect. He’d avoided her exuberant hug. Good work.
Why then, did he feel so bummed?

Review~
Million Dollar Cowboy (A Cupid Texas novel) by Lori Wilde
~Two puzzle pieces
Ridge didn’t have the easiest childhood. From being dumped on his father’s doorstep at 3yrs old to a step mother who hated him just for being there. Ridge made it his life’s job to best his father at everything. When he left 10yrs ago Ridge never planned to return to his hometown, after finding his father and his girlfriend in his bed together. However he couldn’t leave his best friend hanging. He promised to be Archer’s best man and Ridge always kept his promise. But noticing that his best friends little sister grew up to be an amazingly beautiful woman while he’d been gone… How was he going to deal with that?
From the time Kaia was 8yrs old, she’s always had a crush on Ridge. Problem was he was not only 6yrs older than she was, but he only seen her as his best friends bratty little sister…the little sister he never had. But when he came back to town and she seen him… Well that little kid/teenage crush hadn’t gone away, but it seems to be much stronger!!!
To read about the family triangle with Ridge, his father Duke, and Vivi-Ridge’s ex-turned step-mother. The Song of the Soul Mate, and to see how everything flows together between Ridge and Kaia like two puzzle pieces you’ll have to read Million Dollar Cowboy. I absolutely loved how this story unfolded. The different things that came together within this story definitely mate it worth the 5 stars I rated it. Due to sexual situations and adult language, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours through Edelweiss for an honest blog tour review.

~He wanted to belong to her. He wanted her to belong to him. Not in a grading, controlling, possessive way, but in the perfect way two puzzle pieces fit together. Meant to be.
~The not important thing in the world. Without Kaia, he had no world. She was his sun and his moon and his stars. She was the air he breathed. The water he drank. The soul beneath his feet. The burning fire in his heart.

Millionaire at Midnight (Bachelor Auction Novel) by Naima Simone
•What an enjoyable story!
Alex’s father and the board have told him in order to become CEO (instead of acting CEO) he had to settle down. Which means a fiancé. Alex is married to his work and that’s how he likes it. He doesn’t want a relationship at all, but they aren’t giving him a choice. If he wants to be CEO, he needs to find a female candidate to buy that’ll help fool his father into thinking they’re engaged.
Morgan has been hurt and humiliated by her now former fiancé and her step-sister when she caught them proclaiming their love for each other. Now they’re engaged, which left Morgan heartbroken. Morgan bids and wins a bachelor at the charity auction who just happens to be the new CEO of the company she works for. Morgan was the former CEO’s executive assistant, so now she’ll be working for Alex, whom doesn’t like her.
The Phoenix House, a charity near and dear to her heart, is in danger of closing. Morgan proposes that Alex help her save the charity while she helps him obtain the CEO position by pretending to be his fiancé. Should be an easy deal right? The problem they are both facing is their attraction towards each other. They aren’t supposed to feel anything for each other, but they do and it has the possibility to burn them both from the inside out!
To find out what happens between Morgan and Alex you’ll have to read MILLIONAIRE AT MIDNIGHT. This was a cute, romantic love story. Both of the main characters have been hurt by the ones that were supposed to be by their side, but burnt them instead. Due to sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSage through NetGalley for an honest blog tour review.

🎧SYNOPSIS🎧
Lies and love. This is how a war starts.
A life for a life. That’s the mafia way. Damian Rossi owes his life to a man who is ready to collect. That payment comes in the form of an arranged marriage to the daughter of another leading family in the Chicago Outfit. He’s ready to follow through, even if that means making sure Lily knows she’s his.
Lily DeLuca isn’t being given a choice. Forced home to marry a man she doesn’t know and back into a life she’d rather forget, her world is full of half-truths, buried pain, and uncertainty. But Damian is nothing like she expects. His motives aren’t clear. Her beliefs are being tested.
When it comes to this world, no man can be trusted. Someone is ready to flip the Chicago Outfit on its side all for the promise of something better. But no one runs a clean game and these men play for keeps. When blood begins to paint Chicago red, four families will be divided by loyalty, hatred, and revenge. There is no hiding. There is no safety.
No one is deathless.
No one.

🎧Excerpt~ 🎧

“Why would you do this to me?” Lily asked.
Betrayal stung the back of her tongue as bile spilled into her throat.
Dino tricked her. He said nothing about marriage or anything of the sort when he told her it was time to go home.
Of course, he didn’t, her mind taunted. You would have run.
She still could.
Dino seemed to pick up on her inner dilemma. “Your accounts have been frozen. You will not receive another penny of your shares or inheritance until you are married to Damian Rossi.”
“A Rossi.”
“He’s a good man,” Dino said. “And if I didn’t pick you a husband, Lily, Ben was going to. I’m on a one-way train to prison for the unforeseeable future very soon. Theo will have little to no control at his age, especially where you are concerned. That would mean your welfare and choices are left to Ben. Is that what you want? Because if you think for one minute he would consider anything that you wanted, you are sorely fucking mistaken. Ben wouldn’t care—he’d use you for his gain and nothing more. Even if that meant marrying you off to an abusive prick or a man twice your age.”
“I’m a human being. I am a free woman, Dino,” Lily snapped back. “I can make my own decisions about my life without anyone’s input. I will marry who I want, not who you deem appropriate for me.”
“You know that’s not true. You might have liked pretending for the better part of your life like you’re not involved in la famiglia, Lily, but we both know better. Please understand why I did this.”
She couldn’t.
“Lily—”
“Go to hell.”
Dino barked out a bitter laugh. “I’ve already got one foot in the door, Lily. I’m just biding my fucking time while I wait.”
Lily spun fast on her heel and pushed past Dino, needing to get away from him. She only took two steps before coming to an abrupt stop against the form of a familiar but still strange man.
Lily’s hands splayed across the man’s chest as she squeaked in surprise, not even realizing he had intruded on her moment with her brother. She felt her cheeks heat up because not only had he heard a very private conversation, but she was touching him, too.
He didn’t seem to mind.
The same steel-blue gaze that had regarded her earlier at the church looked Lily over once again. She swallowed hard, feeling the bands of his muscles roping across his pectorals under her fingertips jump. His lips pulled into a smirk that looked entirely too wicked for Lily’s liking.
Getting a close up look at this man was bad for Lily’s insides. He was fit with a body built like a boxer’s. The black suit he wore hugged his over six-foot frame perfectly and it only seemed to add to the confident, cool air he sported. A strange disinterest colored his features, but in his eyes, it seemed like he was looking straight through her.
She glanced down between their bodies, noting he stood relaxed and seemingly unbothered by the situation they were in. Even his hands were tossed into his pockets as if he were waiting for something and not like Lily was touching him.
His nonchalant attitude only added to his dark, mysterious demeanor.
Lily still didn’t know how he managed to slip down the hallway without her or Dino noticing or why he was as quiet and still as he was now. What game was he playing?
Who in the hell was this man?
Lily’s heart beat a little harder in her chest, remembering the name Dino uttered earlier.
Damian Rossi.
“Hello.”
Lily blinked.
His voice was a dark tenor dripping with richness. The one word slipped from his mouth without his lips even needing to move. She had the pleasure of hearing many accents in her travels, but his was something else entirely.
“Damian,” Dino said, bringing Lily out of her stupor. “Good to see you finally arrived.”
“Ran over a nail in the church parking lot and came out to a flat tire.”
“Ah, I see.”
Lily stepped back from Damian. His gaze didn’t move from her for a second, not even when he talked to her older brother like they were old friends.
Were they?
“Hello,” Damian said again. “Lily.”
Lily snapped out of whatever daze she was in. “Hello.”
“It’s Damian,” he murmured.
“I know who you are.”
Damian lifted a single, dark brow high. “Oh?”
“Yes.”
“You don’t seem pleased,” he said quietly.
“That I’m forced to marry a man I don’t know and don’t want to know?” Lily asked bitterly. “I’m sorry to disappoint you, Damian.”
Damian’s smirk grew into a grin. “You know me.”
“I—”
“You do,” he interrupted before she could argue the point further. “Just not that well.”
Lily blew out her frustration in a breath of air, gritting her teeth. Resolve steeled her spine straighter and she reminded herself of what her brother asked her to do. Turning, Lily faced a stone-faced, unbothered Dino.
“I will make nice and play good at this dinner,” she said.
“Thank you,” Dino replied.
“But I’m not marrying that man.”
Dino’s expression didn’t waver. “It’s not your choice.”
“I am not marrying him, Dino!”
“Yes, you are,” Damian said.
The words rolled over Lily’s skin like liquid gold. She could feel the pulse of his breath on the back of her neck.
This would be a great deal easier if she didn’t find him attractive.
And why the hell was he agreeing to this, anyway?
“In two months, whether you agree or not, you will be my wife, Lily DeLuca.”
Lily couldn’t help it; she shivered.

Deathless & Divided {AUDIO} (The Chicago War Book #1) by Bethany-Kris
The War Within
Bethany-Kris is AWESOME!! It’s wonderful to have the story read to you while you take care of other things, or do nothing at all! Narrator Roberto Scarlato makes the story even more exciting, his voice is soothing yet animated. Lines are drawn deep within the Chicago Outfit, at the same time they prepare to join two mafia families in marriage. Although Lily is frustrated as hell about being called home and told she’s getting married, but has no choice to whom it is. Her eldest brother Dean has called in a debt to have her married to Damian. Damian Rossi repays his debt to Dean DeLuca, a life for a life (the mafia way). When he agrees to marry and protect Lily. The banter as they get to know each other is hilarious but intriguing. Within the mafia you have no idea whom to trust, someone wants to tear the family apart from the inside. As Chicago streets become painted blood red, the families are divided by hatred, revenge, and even loyalty. There’s no safe place to hide. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
The Chicago War Series should be read in order, starting with….
Deathless and Divided (The Chicago War Book #1)
Reckless and Ruined (The Chicago War Book #2)
Scarless and Sacred (The Chicago War Book #3)
Breathless and Bloodstained (The Chicago War Book #4)
I literally went from chuckling to laughing out loud throughout the book. I voluntarily reviewed an Audio copy of this book via IndieSage in exchange for an honest blog tour review. Due to explicit sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older!

He’s the best man and her secret fling—who said being a wedding planner was easy?

What’s worse than running into your ex-hookup at the airport? When said ‘hookup” is the best man for the most important wedding of your career, and he’s on the hunt for a fake girlfriend. Between a hysterical bride and a wedding party gone wild, wedding planner Emmy Watson can’t afford any more disasters if she wants to save her beloved Wishing Bridge Farm. Which is why she puts the best man on lockdown. Unfortunately, he also happens to be the one guy who can make her forget everything except the way his kisses make her feel.

All Christopher Henderson needs is a fake girlfriend to convince his bosses that his bad boy reputation is a thing of the past so he can land his dream job. What better place to find said companion than at a wholesome vintage wedding. The only thing he didn’t count on was seeing Emmy, the woman who dumped him. The one he hasn’t been able to get off his mind.

There’s no denying the spark between them, but he’s a globetrotter and she’s a homebody, and falling in love is something neither of them has in their plans.

Excerpt

“Emmy,” he countered, trying not to be distracted by the delectable sight of her chest rising and falling. “One dance. That’s all I’m asking. For old time’s sake.”

Emmy’s lips twitched, and Christopher could almost see the two sides of her battling before the carefree smile he recognized from their time together in New York appeared. It changed the shape of her face and brought everything about their first meeting slamming into his mind. She stood up, so close that his skin prickled with desire.

“Fine. One dance.”

“Great.” He led her to the small wooden dance floor to the left of where the jazz band was playing. Lewis and Miranda were in the middle, and fanned out all around them were the rest of the bridal party, but all Christopher could see was Emmy.

The music pulsated around them, and even the pale yellow moon above swayed to the beat. He sucked in a breath and pulled her toward him. It was a mistake, and his lungs were filled with the smell of her freshly washed hair and the evening clematis climbing up the crumbling brickwork of the courtyard walls. His arms tightened around her waist, and her bunched, tense muscles seemed to relax as she melted into him. The rest of the world disappeared, and all he was conscious of was her pounding heart as it pressed against his.

This was the woman he’d met two years ago.

And it seems I’m just as helpless around her as I ever was. Which is either a good thing, or a very, very bad one. The verdict’s still out.

As if reading his mind, she turned her face up to him, a soft, suggestive smile tugging at her full mouth. Desire flared through him, and if they were anywhere else he would’ve kissed her without a second’s hesitation. He forced himself to return her smile and simply enjoy the way her body molded his.

It wasn’t until the lead singer announced the name of the next song Christopher even realized the music had stopped. Emmy was the first to recover, and she stepped away, her face flushed and her eyes not quite meeting his.

“Um.” She licked her lips. “I’m not sure that was such a good idea.”

“I hate to disagree with you, but I think it was an excellent idea. And one that should definitely be repeated. You can’t deny that there’s still something between us.” Christopher tried to pull her closer as the next song started, but she folded her arms firmly in front of her. Ironically, it highlighted the soft curves of her body.

At this rate I’m going to need a fire engine to cool me down.

“I’m serious,” she insisted before letting out a soft sigh. “You’re right. There is still something between us, but there’s nowhere it can go. I want to save the farm, and you want to go visit every strange nook and cranny in the universe. Don’t you see? Nothing’s changed.”

“My hair’s longer,” Christopher said, but it was obvious by the way Emmy had pushed her lips into two compact lines, she wasn’t in the joking mood. “I know you like to be organized, and I get that, but aren’t you over thinking this? I mean, shouldn’t we be having the fun first and then move on to the serious conversations about why it would never work?”

“I’m sorry.” The muscles around her jaw tightened. “I think we should just be friends.”

“Friends that do friendly things together? Like dancing?” he asked in a hopeful voice.

“How about friends that help other friends ensure the groom’s brother doesn’t do anything he might regret?” she countered.

Christopher winced. Ouch. He’d been friend-zoned. Logically, she had a point. She hadn’t changed her mind, and he wouldn’t change his, which meant it was for the best.

If only someone could inform my body of the situation.

Falling for the Best Man (Sisters of Wishing Bridge Farm #1) by Amanda Ashby
•One Perfect Night
Two years ago they had a weekend fling, now as wedding planner and best man they’re stuck staying at the farm together. No big deal right…. Yeah right, it’d be that way if they both didn’t still want each other! The universe obviously has other ideas. Christopher needed a pretend girlfriend for the producers to launch a travel TV show about his travel adventures. Now he just needed top find the right kind of girl to convince the producers. Emmy is determined to make the family farm’s new vintage wedding venture a success—so she could convince the bank manager it was a viable business, so she could buy her sisters out. To see how this amazingly funny but serious 2nd chance love story plays out you’ll have to read FALLING FOR THE BEST MAN. I for one am waiting to read more about the Sisters of Wishing Bridge Farm. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours through NetGalley in exchange for an honest blog tour review.

DeLuca Duet, Part One

Ask anyone and they will all say the same thing about just who Dino DeLuca is. A criminal, the son of a traitor, and a mafia Capo who can’t be trusted. His past has shaped his life, creating demons he can’t escape from that live in his mind day and night.

He is all too aware of just how people see him.

Closed off.
Cold.
Different.

Karen came into his life like a spring shower, her light shining through the darkness and making him see something other than the hell that surrounded him for so long. She doesn’t know who he is or what he has done to become the man he is today. If he can help it, she’ll never know, and his monsters will never hurt her.

She sees his differences as beauty.
She never asks for more.

The problem with happiness for Dino DeLuca is that his monsters don’t mind taking away what makes him happy. After all, what isn’t given cannot be kept.

These lessons will be the hardest he has ever learned.

Excerpt~
To some it probably seemed stupid for him to talk to a grave, his mother’s body was rotting in a casket six feet under, and her soul was gone high above, likely.
But it helped.
Very few things helped Dino.
Knowing he had to go and chat with Riley Conti for the sake of peace and business, Dino said a quiet goodbye to his mother, giving the headstone one more pat with his hand before he stood straight. Dino fixed his jacket as he weaved in and out of the other markers, careful not to step on the graves as that was just disrespectful to the dead.
And he’d kill any fucking fool who stepped on his mother’s grave.
He’d just stepped onto the stone pathway heading back toward the parking lot of the church when a something rammed back into him from behind.
The quiet ommpf sound was followed by a quick apology.
“Sorry!”
Dino spun on his heel, coming face to face with a young woman that held a large camera in her hands and eyes so wide he was pretty sure he would be able to see his reflection in the brown depths if he looked hard enough. She was pretty—beautiful, even—in an unassuming way with her earthy-toned clothing and her long, caramel-colored hair tied up in a messy bun at the very top of her head. The sunglasses on her head fell down over her face, hiding those eyes of hers, as she took another step backward.
She pushed the sunglasses back to the crown of her head.
Dino was still staring at her, quite unsure of what to do.
“You okay?” he asked.
The woman nodded, smiling just a bit.
That led his attention to the gentle curve of her pink lips, and the way her shoulder lifted at the same time.
“My fault,” she replied. “I was walking backward to get the right shot—missed you coming out from behind the statue. Nice day for photos, though, so I couldn’t help myself. I get the best ones in the cemeteries.”
Dino’s brow furrowed.
She talked a lot.
He barely talked at all, even when he was forced into conversation.
Maybe that was why he felt so awkward standing there, unsure of what to say or if she even wanted him to.
“I saw you, though,” the girl continued. “Over there, right?”
She pointed back toward his mother’s grave.
Dino just blinked. “Uh.”
She didn’t seem the slightest bit put off by his lack of communication, instead, rolling right on with whatever she had to say next.
“It makes me curious when I’m photographing cemeteries and see people talking to graves or whatever, and I almost stop them to chat, but never do. It wouldn’t be right.”
Yet, there she was, talking to him.
That was not lost on Dino.
She stuck her hand out, offering it to him.
“Karen Martin,” she said.
Dino’s gaze flicked down at her hand, and without his permission, lifted his own to take hers. There was a warmth to her skin that wasn’t in his, he noticed. They were both outside, so there was no real reason for the temperature difference.
Karen smiled widely. “You should tell me your name, it’s only fair.”
“Dino,” he said, surprised at how quietly his name came out.
“Do you come here often?”
Again, he answered, more honestly than perhaps he should have spoken. “Once a week usually to visit my mother.”
That brightness in her features dimmed just a bit, but she still managed a smile.
Dino couldn’t help but notice that it was a beautiful smile.
Even when it was sad.
“Can I make a confession, Dino?” Karen asked.
Dino eyed her, both curious and a little wary of her sunny disposition while she stood chatting happily in the middle of a cemetery with a man she didn’t know from Eve.
“Go for it, Karen.”
“Me bumping into you wasn’t really an accident,” she said with a wink. “You looked sad—I wanted to see if I could make you smile.”
He wasn’t quite sure what to make of that.
Karen shrugged her one shoulder again, letting go of his hand and pointing at his face as she took a step backward. “And you are, Dino. Smiling, I mean.”
Was he?
Karen laughed a sweet sound that reminded him of a melody, floating in the wind and being carried further away. “Have a great day, Dino. And if you need to smile next Sunday, I might be around.”
Before he could reply, Karen was already gone back up the pathway, and disappearing behind a rather large statue in the cemetery.
It took two minutes for Dino to get back to his car.
His reflection in the driver’s window confirmed Karen’s statement.
He was smiling.
How strange …

Review~
WASTE OF WORTH (DELUCA DUET: PART ONE) by Bethany-Kris
Just WOW!!!
I usually don’t start off a review like this, but I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for WORTH THE WASTE (Deluca Duet Part Two) to be released February 2017, for the rest of the story! That being said, WASTE OF WORTH (Deluca Duet Part One) left off at a great breaking point…. I just want the rest of the story and I’m glad it’ll be here soon!! Although I haven’t read  the Chicago War Series YET, I didn’t feel as though I was lost while reading this story, in all honesty I didn’t know they interconnected until after I finished reading this one! I WILL go ball and read  Chicago Wars to see what I missed… But I’ll wait until after I’ve finished DeLuca Duet Past Two.
Dino has always protected his siblings from their uncle Ben. Their family business is the Chicago Mafia/Mob. Their uncle is ruthless, even killing his own brother and his wife (Dino’s parents). Dino’s soul is a black hole, until one day he meets Karen. Who is a ray of light, while visiting his mothers grave. He blows her off and quits going to the cemetery, to keep her safe. Karen shows up a few months later at a strip club to audition for a job…. Just happens to be Dino’s club,. He refuses to hire her there, but gives her a job at one of his restaurants instead. It doesn’t matter that he knows he should stay away from Karen, Dino just cannot do it. She actually makes him smile, and actually makes him feel. To see what happens between Dino and Karen you’re gonna have to read WASTE OF WORTH. It does describe some dark series of the Mafia/Mob, but the story is so much more than that. You’ll keep reading from beginning to end just to see how things turn out, it’s powerful.
