Review ~
Thieves 2 Lovers by K. Webster and J.D. Hollyfield
• Family
Another amazingly written rom-com by a spectacularly funny duet! When Webster and Hollyfield get together you know it’s going to be a hoot. But always be prepared for the unexpected cuz you never know what’ll happen when these two awesome authors join forces together, except a spectacular story of course! Linc and Regan are best friends who ended up kissing which made things awkward. Regan’s in a relationship with someone else and Linc’s not good enough for her, he’s the bad boy. It’s time to talk about their kiss. They miss each other but can’t stop thinking about their shared amazing kiss. Is what they feel for each other love or just a paying moment? Regardless Linc promises he’ll always be there for her, he’s get best friend. You’ll have to read Thieves 2 Lovers to find out what happens between these two. It’s funny, but remember life isn’t all always just fun and games. (Author’s note that I agree with) It is best if you’ve read Text 2 Lovers and Hate 2 Lovers so you’ll understand the dynamic of the characters in this story. Plus, you don’t want to miss out on all the fun of the first two books! Due to explicit sexual content and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via the author via bookfunnel for an honest review.

Release ~ Walk of Shame

Walk of Shame
Love Unexpectedly #4
By: Lauren Layne
Releasing April 18, 2017

Sparks fly between a misunderstood New York socialite and a cynical divorce lawyer in this lively standalone rom-com from the USA Today bestselling author of Blurred Lines and Love Story.

Pampered heiress Georgianna Watkins has a party-girl image to maintain, but all the shopping and clubbing is starting to feel a little bit hollow—and a whole lot lonely. Though Georgie would never admit it, the highlights of her week are the mornings when she comes home at the same time as her uptight, workaholic neighbor is leaving to hit the gym and put in a long day at the office. Teasing him is the most fun Georgie’s had in years—and the fuel for all her naughtiest daydreams.

Celebrity divorce attorney Andrew Mulroney doesn’t have much time for women, especially spoiled tabloid princesses who spend more time on Page Six than at an actual job. Although Georgie’s drop-dead gorgeous, she’s also everything Andrew resents: the type of girl who inherited her penthouse instead of earning it. But after Andrew caps one of their predawn sparring sessions with a surprise kiss—a kiss that’s caught on camera—all of Manhattan is gossiping about whether they’re a real couple. And nobody’s more surprised than Andrew to find that the answer just might be yes.

And who is he, you ask?
Andrew Mulroney, Esquire.
I know this because we moved into the building on the exact same day, and right before we got into a horrendous fight over whose movers should have access to the building loading dock first, he handed me his business card.
The thick white card stock declared that he had a fancy law degree to go along with the fancy suit he was wearing on a Saturday.
Andrew handed it over with such superiority, I actually wished for a half second that I had a business card of my own that would somehow be better than his. Like, lined with gold or something. No, platinum. With a diamond in the corner. It would be too heavy for him to hold, and he’d drop it, thus having to kneel at my feet to pick it up.
But then I realized it was just as well that I didn’t have a business card.
Because it would say . . . what? Georgie Watkins, professional party girl?
Anyway, I digress. Despite the high temps of that swampy July morning, the encounter had been the start of an epic cold war.
Me, the socialite in apartment 86A against the uptight esquire in apartment 79B.
I’m not entirely sure I’m winning the war, but I’ll never tell him that.
I let my gaze drift over Andrew, even though his appearance rarely holds any surprises. The man’s a lesson in sameness, like some sort of anal-retentive version of Groundhog Day.
There’s always the black mug with some healthy gunk inside held in his right hand, Tom Ford briefcase and Armani garment bag in his left, containing what I know to be a perfectly tailored three-piece suit.
Andrew’s coppery hair is perfectly styled, although I’d swear that there’s some natural curl in there threatening to disrupt his perfect order. I imagine that annoys him, so it therefore makes me happy.
Let’s see, what else about my nemesis?
He’s got a hard, unfriendly jawline that’s perfectly shaven.
Dark brown eyes, cold and flat. Black gym bag over one shoulder.
I suppose you could say he changes up his attire, because he does alternate between black and gray gym shirts. But considering that they seem to be the exact same fit, both colors molding perfectly to his impressively sculpted upper body, we’re not giving him any points for variety there.
Same goes for the lower half. The black shorts worn in summer have given way to sleek black sweatpants now that October’s upon us, but they’re both black and Nike, so we’ll give him no credit for changing it up there either.
The shoes, though . . .
I do a double take.
Well, well, well . . .
Instead of the usual black gym shoes, the man’s shoes are red. I don’t know how I missed it before.
I drag my eyes back up his body with a grin, and he gives just the slightest roll of his eyes to indicate that he’s noticed my slow perusal and isn’t fazed in the least.
“You went shopping, Dorothy!” I say happily.
He stares at me. “I don’t shop.”
Of course not. Far too frivolous.
“No, that makes sense,” I say, pointing at his feet. “Glinda would have given these to you.”
Andrew looks down at his Rolex watch. “I’ve got to go. Have a good day, Mr. Ramirez.”
“You too, Mr. Mulroney,” Ramon says with a deferential nod. “Enjoy your workout.”
“Yes, do,” I say, turning and watching as Andrew moves toward the front door of our building. “What’s on the schedule today? Treadmill, or just skipping down the Yellow Brick Road?”
Andrew Mulroney, Esquire, doesn’t respond. He doesn’t even turn before pushing through the revolving doors and stepping out into the still-dark autumn morning.
Now come on. Tell me that wasn’t at least a little bit fun, despite the ungodly hour.

Bartender Brandt Turner didn’t need all those years in the army to teach him never to leave a man behind. Or an alien princess in need of a pretend fiancé. If she needs someone to play the lovesick fool to convince her dad to let her stay on Earth, well then, he’ll let the world think Cupid finally took him out.

“I’m here. And I’m not going to let anything hurt you. You know that, right?”

“Yeah.” Her breathing started to slow. “Yeah, I know.”

He reached over and took her hand. “Whoever it was in that dream? They are never going to hurt you again. Never. I don’t care who they are or how many soldiers they have at their back or whatever type of crazy alien monster they fight for fun on their home planet. They don’t get to hurt you ever again. Do you understand me?”

“Yes.” She sniffled and his chest tightened. “Brandt?”

“Would you stay with me? Just until I fall back to sleep? You don’t—”

His heart began to thump painfully at the fear that lingered in her voice. This was a bad idea. Being her friend
meant not getting into a position where his inner asshole could take over. He needed to keep that part of himself on a leash, and climbing into bed with a beautiful, vulnerable alien princess wearing nothing but one of his T-shirts and a pair of teeny-tiny little shorts? That was a road straight to hell for his intentions.

But whatever was waiting for her in that dream? It had her scared. Terrified her. And if that meant he had to man up and be a big damn hero? He’d do it, and he’d keep his thoughts as pure as an altar boy at the same time.

Thankfully, he was pretty sure altar boys were just as pervy as other kids, they just kept it under wraps. And he could do that.

“Budge over,” he said, and squeezed her hand again.

“And keep your snoring to a minimum. Some of us need to get our beauty sleep.”

“I don’t snore,” she retorted, chuckling.

“No, you just do chain saw imitations in your sleep,” he teased as he lifted the sheet and slid into his suddenly-much too-small bed beside her.

She rolled over so that she was facing him, and he slid his arm underneath her neck, pulling her close so he could cradle her.

“Thanks for this,” she said as she settled her head on his chest.

“For cuddling you? No problem. I’m a man who loves his cuddles. Serious cuddle addict right here. I should be the one thanking you. And just so you know, tomorrow I’m going to want to sit down over tea and discuss our feelings and coordinate manicures. And pedicures. Oh, and I’m sogoing to need my hair braided. You can’t let me down now.”

“Asshole,” she squeaked.

He stared down at her and knew his mouth was hanging open in surprise at the insult. He’d never even heard Perri say “crap” before. “Was that your first cuss word?”

“Maybe. Why? What’s wrong with it?”

“Not a thing.” He smiled as he stared up at the ceiling and tried his hardest not to pet her hair. “I was just curious.”

“You’re not really going to make me drink Earth tea and paint my nails tomorrow, are you? I’m really not good with that whole polish thing. It seeps through my outer skin and stains my tentacles and clogs my pores and it really itches.”

“Fine.” He let out a dramatic sigh. “I guess we can skip that part, if it’s that big of an issue. But I want you to know without the talking and the tea and the manicures this now feels just a little bit cheap and tawdry. But I’ll endure.”

“Thank you, Brandt.”

He gave up his resistance and brought his right hand across his chest to smooth her hair while his left hand rested on her lower back. “No problem, sweetheart.”

HIS FAKE ALIEN FIANCÉE (Out of This World Book 2) by Patricia Eimer
After escaping the forced marriage her father arranged that’d help him, but not what she wanted. Perri arrived on Earth with her sister Corri. Now her father wants to force both of them into yet another marriage. But while talking to her father Perri tells him he doesn’t need to find them husbands because they’ve both found their soul-mates. While this is true for her sister Corri, it isn’t for Perri! Now she has to find someone in their extremely small town that’ll pretend to be her fiancé when her father comes to town in 4 days. However there is only a handful of people besides Agent Fox that know she’s an alien…. Her sister, her sisters soul-mate Mattias, their boss at the diner and her husband, Brandt; who happens to not only be Mattias’ best friend, but has been Perri’s best human friend since she arrived. Brandt had been taught by his mother to be there when he’s needed, so he volunteers to help Perri by being her pretend fiancé while her father is in town. However since he’s never been the type of relationship guy, just the love ’em and leave ’em type, he didn’t plan on cupid’s arrow catching him. Perri’s father on the other hand doesn’t plan to play fair, he’s always gotten things his way and has no intention of things going any other way. But Brandt is willing to go as far as it takes for to keep Perri safe and on Earth. To find out how all this comes about you’ll have to read HIS FAKE ALIEN FIANCÉE. This is a cute and funny romantic sci-fi alien story. After reading this one, it makes me want to go back and read Patricia’s first book of this series OUT OF THIS WORLD. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSage and Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest blog tour review.

It’s the start of nothing good.
I fired off a storm of raunchy text messages…to the wrong number.
And he replied.
Him: Show me a picture.
Him: Tell me your name.
Why does the lure of anonymity have me craving to indulge a stranger?
It’s the start of everything right.
I received a slew of text messages…when everything in my life was wrong.
And she made me laugh again.
Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.
Why do I have the overwhelming need to find this stranger who saved me and make her mine?
Him: Take a chance with me.
Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.

Review ~

Text 2 Lovers by K Webster and J.D. Hollyfield

What a hilarious combination these two authors came up with, it’s awesome! I had a hard time trying to keep my laughs in while hubby tried sleeping next to me. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.
Dani just caught her boyfriend well ex now, with his tongue down his “neighbors” throat. So while slamming drinks at the bar with her best friend Andi she ends up sending a bunch of angry texts to him. However she accidentally sends them to a wrong number instead. The guy that ends up receiving them actually makes her smile and laugh so they continue texting, as well as begin talking at night too.
Ram has been in a slump ever since being set up by his ex, which cost him to lose his job. To top it off, his brother is the one whom had to fire him. Now he’s trying to start his own advertising company, but has had a mental block at what to use for the clients logo. That is until he’s drunk texted by some random lady that actually makes him laugh. After she uses a Princess Bride movie quote it helps him figure out what to use for his client. Ram wants to get to know this person Carrie better and in person, but she’s not ready for that. After the way her ex treated her Ram understands, but texting isn’t enough so he calls to hear her voice and make sure she’s a real person.
The circumstances that align for their unexpected first meeting is hilarious! You’ve got to read TEXT 2 LOVERS to find out how it happens as well as the roller coaster ride of life these two experience. I am sooooo looking forward to more from these two authors together! These two took an approach I haven’t seen or read before, but oh was it wonderful to read. One author wrote the heroine’s POV while the other took the hero’s. You’ll have to read the story to figure out which author wrote which, because trying to figure it out is part of the fun. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book. via IndieSage through bookfunnel in exchange for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older!

PRETEND IT’S LOVE (Behind the Bar #2) by Stefanie London
•Two Birds One Stone
What an exciting love story, Stefanie has done it again! Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I finished, I had to know if Paul came around or kept his head in the sand.
Libby is set to launch her new business, Libby Gal Cocktails—a line of girlie infused vodkas and cocktail mixes. However a female reality celebrity has beat her to the punch by a month. Now all the businesses she had lined up for her launch are backing out and dropping her like flies in favor for the celebrity. Libby’s father wants her to stop her nonsense and go back to medical school. Her parents have never shown her the unconditional love and support that she’s seen with family’s around her.
Paul enjoys being the bar manager for the bar that his brother runs. However he feels like he couldn’t measure up to his brother’s success, he is always in his shadow. When he finds out that Stella, his ex is going to not only be at his brother’s wedding with her husband who is not only Paul’s cousin, but the guy she cheated on Paul with, but she’s pregnant too. He knows he’s got to figure out a way to find someone he trusts enough to bring to the wedding, it’s in six weeks!
Libby needs a bar to take a chance and showcase her cocktails and Paul needs a perfect girlfriend for the wedding. It’s a perfect solution for what they both need, a complete fake relationship. With ground rules in place of course… It’s a business deal only, no emotions, no falling in love~ easy since neither do relationships. No sex with anyone.. Doesn’t matter that they’re both extremely attracted to each other. You’ll have to read PRETEND IT’S LOVE to find out what happens between Libby and Paul. By the time I finished reading this story my cheeks hurt from smiling or laughing. Although this is the second book in the series, each story is a standalone  novel that coincides with each other. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours through NetGalley in exchange for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older.

He scrubbed his palms over his face and rested his elbows on his knees. “This was not how I saw this night going.”

“Big Valentine’s Day plans?”

He lowered his hands and looked at me like I’d just claimed I single-handedly caused the storm raging outside. “I didn’t even know that was today. Does this mean we’re each other’s valentines by default?”

I scoffed. “Not a chance.”

He chuckled. “Always so blunt. I like that about you.” He quickly cleared his throat as if he hadn’t meant to say that. “Well, non-valentine, looks like we’re going to be stuck here a while. Have anything in mind?” he said.

I decided against packing on another insult. He was being nice, and this sure as heck beat staring at the wall the rest of the night. “My form of entertainment is at 6 percent battery, so I’m open to suggestions.”

“Mine is fully charged. Want to watch something?”

“Sure.” What else did I have to do? Before I knew it, I was sitting on the bed next to him, leaning against the ornately carved headboard. Snow gusting against the window was the only sound in the room as he searched for a show for us to watch.

So quiet.

Way too quiet.

I fidgeted with my necklace, moving the small diamond back and forth on the chain. The last time I was in bed with Ryder… I didn’t even want to finish that thought, because it’d do nothing but make this situation worse. I chanced a peek in his direction.
He chewed the inside of his cheek, swiping through our options. “This is awkward, huh?” he said.

“We’ve achieved Urkel status.”

He chuckled and scrolled through the show queue. “Would you rather watch Law and Order: SVU or Criminal Minds?”

“That is quite possibly the worst Would You Rather question ever asked.”

His eyes cut to mine. “I didn’t know I was playing a game.”

“You’ve never played it?”

He shook his head.

Lainey and I played this game all the time in college, and when we’d take road trips together. She always came up with the grossest ones. “It’s simple. All you have to do is ask the person which horrible thing they’d rather do. The harder the question, the better. Like would you rather lay in a pit of snakes, or eat questionably dead roadkill?” I pointed to his phone. “Oh, John Tucker Must Die. I like that one.”

“Negative, ghost rider.” He scrolled past my suggestion. “And what the hell does questionably dead mean? Is it still twitching, or are we talking suspicious cause of death?”

I shrugged. “The interpretation’s up to you.”

“You’re absolutely no help.” He swiped his thumb across his beard and contemplated. “I guess I’d go with the snakes.”

“Okay, now it’s your turn,” I said.

“Do I really have to play? I thought we were picking a show.”

I shot him a look.

“Fine. Would you rather have me or Chewbacca as your valentine?”

“Too easy. The spider.”

He put his hand to his heart. “You wound me.”

“Stop being such a baby.” I swatted at his chest and immediately pulled my hand back. Nope. Would not go there. “Okay, would you rather not be able to see or talk for a month?”

He answered instantly. “See.”

“Right. You’d probably go nuts if you couldn’t open that big mouth of yours.”

His lips twitched. “You’re one to talk.”

“Excuse me?” Okay, I did have a tough time keeping my thoughts on lockdown outside the office, but that was my own cross to bear.

“Don’t even try to play it off like you’re innocent.”

I’d dated a lot of losers in the past, most who hadn’t even bothered to get to know me, but even after only hanging out a few times, Ryder had me pegged. He was perceptive. I saw the look in his eyes whenever I dealt with Jason. His attention focused solely on me was unnerving. “Jerk,” I sputtered.

“Now I know you’re holding back. You can do way better than that.” He scrolled through his phone again. “How about Die Hard?”

“Are all your show selections about death? I’m starting to worry I made a mistake coming over here.” My lips pulled into a smile and I quickly extinguished it. God, I wanted to hate him.

“Fine.” He continued looking at the Netflix queue. “Would you rather eat sushi from a taco stand, or lick an airplane armrest?”

“Good one. Sushi.” I pointed to his screen. “How about 10 Things I Hate About You?”

He shook his head and chuckled. “Are all of your suggestions going to not-so-subtly tell me you hate me?”

I smiled sweetly. “Maybe.”

“Just think, most people would find this to be a romantic escape. Two people, stuck in the mountains on Valentine’s Day,” he said.

“We’re Hallmark movie material, all right,” I deadpanned.

“Okay, fine. How about The Walking Dead?”

“Your show picking powers have been officially revoked.” I grabbed the phone from his hand.

“Hey!” He grabbed for the phone, and I held it out of reach. “You’re going to regret that.” Within seconds he was on top of me, playfully pinning me to the bed, his strong hands circling my wrists. Air evaporated from my lungs as our gazes connected.

I was immediately transported back to that night.

Tell me what you want, Zoey. Tell me what you need from me.

I swallowed hard. That was months ago, and those words still haunted me from time to time. Because he did exactly that, gave me what I wanted and needed. Repeatedly.

The Rule Maker (Rule Breakers Series #2) by Jennifer Blackwood

Zoey loved her job as an interior designer, and the firm she works for is ecstatic about having another job from the prestigious Covington Family. Zoey has already designed one building for Jason and is excited to work with/for him again. Only she’s in for a complete shock when his brother Ryder is the one waiting in her office instead of Jason. How in the world I’d she going to pull off working with him on this project when they’ve slept together which is one of the company’s cardinal rules “Don’t sleep with client”…. But he want a client then, so as long as it’s not repeated it’ll be ok. Although she’d the throat punch him than work with him since he left like a jerk in the middle of the night. It doesn’t matter that it was just a one-night stand, it was the best night and now she can’t stop thinking about him. How is she going to work with him, maybe she should just hand of this project to another designer.

Ryder was torn on his feelings for Zoey. He hated leaving in the middle of the night during what was supposed to be their one-night stand, but he didn’t have a choice. Should he have called her, yeah probably but he’d never been in that type of situation before. Now his brother Jason has asked him to step in and work with Zoey on this project since he’s home recovering with a broken leg from a snowboarding accident. How can he work worth her on this when 1-he can’t so thinking about her and 2-he’s not on board with this project. He thinks the place should be torn down, and add much add it positions him to admit he she’s with his grandparents that the place should just be sold.

How do Zoey and Ryder decide to make working together on this protest work? You’ll have to read THE RULE MAKER to find out. Oh but this romantic comedy was great! You’ll be chuckling if not laughing out loud throughout their banter. Their banter is hilarious, from page one I refused to put this book down! The sexual tensions are OFF THE CHARTS from the get go between Ryder and Zoey. Another spectaculiar hit from Jennifer Blackwood. I haven’t read the Rule Book (Rule breakers#1) yet, but I’ll definitely have to go read what I missed out on. These are stand alone stories with characters that blend together. Due to sexual situations, this book is recommended for readers over 17. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR/Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Review 📖 New Release

A SHOT WITH YOU (A Bourbon Brothers) by Teri Anne Stanley

Bourbon is in Brandon Morgan’s blood. His family owns the best bourbon brand in the country—or it will be with his marketing genius. And after meeting the fiery daughter of a tequila distillery owner, he’s never been more sure.
His barrels, her tequila. It’s a match made in heaven. But only if he can keep his hands off the owner’s daughter…and his secrets to himself.
Lesa Ruiz will do anything to keep Little Possum afloat, but one look at Brandon’s gorgeous dimples and Lesa knows two things for sure: forever is not in the cards with this man and he’s way too sexy to resist for long.
Well, three things… Brandon is hiding something, and she’ll need to get a lot closer to figure it out and save her family’s legacy. Shots, anyone?

This book had me laughing from the get go, what an awesome way to start a romantic comedy!
While on a cruise at Puerto Vallarta’s port, Brandon Morgan decided he’d pass on the “high adventure” of ski-surfing he’d signed up for. It didn’t matter that he’d already pre-paid for it, it was NOT appealing to him, he’d rather get dental work done without anesthesia! So he decided to take a tequila tour instead, but he’d *skip the tequila tasting—yech—and have bourbon. No cactus water for him*(direct book quote). Since he found the latest Blue Mountain Bourbon, Dangerous Dave’s Eight Ball as he purchased it and another ticket for the tequila tour. Although he was on vacation, *as one of the sons of a prize-winning bourbon distilling family, sniffing samples of tequila and touring a distillery was work. It was market research and checking out the competition, and he loved it *(direct book quote).
Lesa was helping her father out as she’d promised her mother before she died, giving tasting tours of her family’s tequileria. Although she didn’t think this was going to be enough to help dig them out of their financial hole, what they needed was a major overhaul of the business. Lesa knew her family’s tequila was the best in all of Mexico. Within this tour was an American that when she looked at him she forgot everything she was supposed to say. When their eyes met, something passed between them. Although she had no idea what it was, she could tell he felt it too. Lesa has dreams of writing a book about her travels around the world.
Brendan’s primary purpose is to increase Blue Mountain Bourbon’s profits, his family makes the best bourbon in Kentucky. After she convinces him to taste tequila— which he hasn’t done since college, he missed the tour bus. Instead of being raced to the port to catch his bus they’re being taken to the airport so Lesa can get an on hands look at the Morgan family business. He wants to expand using his barrels and their tequila would be a match made in heaven. Can Brandon convince Lesa to tell her father this is a good deal, all while keeping his hands off of her? Can Lesa convince her father this is the deal they need to help their business, so she can go live her dream? However can she keep her hands to herself? You’ll have to read A SHOT WITH YOU to find out, but oh my!!! What an intriguingly hot and sexy romance. When it’s the right cove is hot she heavy, but is it the permanent choice or just right now? ~ I received an ARC via Tasty Book Tours through NetGalley in exchange for an honest blog tour review.
