Excerpt ~
“Do you have any idea in that gorgeous head of yours how difficult it’s going to be for us to just be friends?” River pushes a stray hair from my face, looking directly in my eyes.

He walks up to me and stands entirely too close.
I can smell him and feel his warm breath against my face
River’s voice gets low, and he wipes at my eyes with the pads of his fingers. “I keep trying to force myself to have feelings for Willow, but I think it’s impossible.”
“Why?” I ask between sobs.
“Do you really want to know why, Kate?”
“Yes, tell me.”
River presses the hard lines of his body into mine and puts his hands on my face. “It’s really simple. It’s because she isn’t you.” River stares into my eyes and slowly inches his lips to mine. There’s so much want behind it, deep and powerful, as if he’s trying to possess me—own me. It’s like this every time River kisses me.

Before I know it. River’s face is in my hair as he whispers in my ear. “I want to touch you so bad.” I shiver at the feel of his warm breath smelling of soda and River.
“You can’t,” I say under my breath. “Please stop. They’re going to see.”
“You’re so close to me. I miss you.” His hand moves back up my leg.
My heart melts. I miss him too, and all I want to do is be close to him. I can’t let him know I agree, though. “I’m sorry,” I whisper, and I shift my legs so they are on top of Lane’s.

Before I can say anything, he puts his arms around me, planting his lips so harshly to mine I can barely register what’s happening.
The kiss is powerful. Filled with urgency and desire.
Far be it for me to stop him now, because I’m hungry for it. I want this closeness with him, and all of the resolve I’ve had built up is suddenly knocked down with one kiss. Lips to lips, tongue to tongue, all I can breathe is River.

What About Us (Bluff Harbor Book 2) by Emma Tharp
• Love
What am amazing continuation to River and Kate’s story.. You’ll have to read What About Us (Book Two in the Bluff Harbor Series) to find out whether or not they end up with the HEA at the conclusion or what happens. There’s a LOT of emotion and love throughout this book and series, will love conquer? I thoroughly enjoyed reading both books. Although this is book two of the series which picks up where book one ends, you could read this as a standalone story, but I recommend reading both…. Just because I love them both! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language, this book is recommended for readers 18 and older!

About the Author
Emma was raised in upstate NY. Being an only child, she spent a great deal of time alone dreaming up characters that would keep her company on long family road trips. Putting her writing on the back burner, she went to college and became a chiropractor. After spending 14 years healing patients, Emma decided—with the help of her amazingly supportive husband—to use the creative side of her brain and let her characters come to the page.

If she’s not writing, Emma can be found at the gym, one of her kids sporting events, Starbucks, or at a live music event.

A perfect day for Emma would be spent at her lake house with her husband, two ginger-haired children, and Vizsla, reading a book and drinking a large cup of coffee (or wine) with music playing in the background.

🌌✨ GRAVITY by A. B. Bloom

•Love Or Life

I really hope GRAVITY turns into a series! This is my first A.B. Bloom book, and I enjoyed reading it. Her writing style is awesome, the way she’s built each character throughout the storyline is spectacularly done. I canNOT wait to read more.
Bronte was a normal teenage girl, that is until her 16th birthday when an extreme amount of health issues arrive, yet the doctors have yet to figure out what is actually going on! We follow her through her days with her best friend Lauren at school, and then sexily gorgeous Nick shows up and throws her world off kilter. However Nick isn’t the only one to come to light up her life. What happens with Bronte? You’ll have to read GRAVITY to find out, but there are lots of unexpected twists and turns from beginning to end. This book uses British/UK spellings and references. I received an ARC via IndieSage in exchange for an honest blog tour review. Recommend from age 12+, teen paranormal romance.

Megan Westfield has dabbled in many hobbies and pastimes over the years, ranging from playing the cello to cake decorating (i.e., icing-eating) to a dozen different outdoor adventure sports. She is now a permanent resident of San Diego where she and her husband count family beach time with their two young kids as an adventure sport. EXCERPT ~~
Josh was still over on the tailgate, pressing his fingers along the top of his laptop like it

was a ledge on a climbing route. The wind whipped her ponytail and blew her bangs into her eyes.

It was all for the best, she reminded herself. Seriously, what did she think would happen

here today? That he’d push her against the side of his truck and kiss her like in Gone With the

Wind?

“Okay, well, I’ll see you tomorrow,” she called.

His fingers froze on the edge of the laptop. His eyes were large and troubled.

“I have the pictures that go with the speech,” he said.

“Do you want to see them?”

She’d already seen the pictures, last week, when she mailed a CD of them to Vera. He

had to know April would have checked them over before sending them.

Hope rose up and filled her chest.

Yes. He had to know she’d already seen them, but he had still asked. This was a good

sign. Maybe he wasn’t mad. Maybe he wanted her to stay as much as she did. If she was smart,

she would leave now. She would go back to the Walkabout campsite immediately.

“You’re right. I guess I should take a look.”

She climbed back on the tailgate, this time letting her legs swing free. He set the laptop

between them, and she had to scoot closer to support her side of it.

Although she’d seen the pictures before, tonight she saw them in a new light. These

weren’t at all like the action photos that dominated climbing magazines. These were pictures of

sunbursts behind jagged rock-and-ice Sierra peaks, pristine alpine rivers, and vistas from the

eastern reaches of the park down into wide deserts, breathtaking views of the park as it could

only be seen from the sides of its trademark formations, thousands of feet in the air. Views she

had gotten a taste of only because she’d been to Flying Sheep Lake. His photos were of solace,

beauty, and peace.

Freedom. Reverence. Challenge. Commitment. Exploration.

As Josh arrow-keyed through the pictures, his arm was floating above her bare thigh. He

stopped clicking, and she prayed it wasn’t because he could hear how fast her heart was beating.

“What happened to your hands?” he asked.

She looked down at them, wondering if she had been fidgeting.

“Looks like you crawled through razor wire.”

Indeed, her palms were a patchwork of torn blisters and fiery splotches. Her fingertips

were hatched with scratches.

“Madigan is teaching me how to ascend,” she said.

He raised an eyebrow.

“I’m filming on the Sorcerer.”

He looked surprised. “You are?”

She thought he knew. “Are you okay with it?”

“Might be kind of a distraction.”

Danny should have asked Josh before changing up the plan on the climb!

He elbowed her. “I’m joking, April.”

She laughed like she had known it all along.

As they looked at a few more of his pictures, she was grateful for the warmth of the

laptop on her leg. She was still dressed for the daytime heat, but it was getting chilly with the

approach of sunset, and the winds were stronger than usual. Josh grabbed his gray hooded

sweatshirt from the back of the truck and held it as she slipped her arms into the sleeves. The

softness of the sweatshirt and the intensity of his familiar scent weakened her knees. It was

almost as if she had him wrapped around her.

He cocked his head. “It’s a little big.”

She pushed the sleeves up and connected the zipper at the bottom. It got stuck midway

up.

“Sorry, it’s really old,” he said. “But there’s a trick.”

He carefully reached for the zipper pull, tugged down twice, wiggled it, then yanked it

the rest of the way up. Her goose bumps from the cold refreshed themselves with goose

bumps from his touch.

REVIEW ~~

LESSONS IN GRAVITY by Megan Westfield

•Heartbreaking Intricate Love Story

April’s dream is to be a documentary filmmaker, she’s lucky enough to have an internship with Walkabout Media & Productions to make that dream come true. However her chore is to get Josh Knox the infamous rock climber who prefers to free solo instead of climbing with the safety of a rope, to open up and give more than one worded clipped answers during an interview. Would she be able to break through his interview pretentiousness? Is it him or is it her? If it’s him, why is he like this, is the camera an instant switch for “Jerk Josh”?(*direct book quote) April is able to crack his exterior but falls for him in the process. After what happened to her father, how will she be able to handle his choices? Will she be able to do the added job Danny’s asked of her?
Josh climbs rocks without a care in the world, or so it seems, what’s really going on within and around him? No one else has gotten him to open up like this ever, now it’s time to be filmed climbing Sorcerer Spire with its sharp twisting tower, without a rope. *Sorcerer rose from the valley floor to the sky in an uninterrupted swoop. But unlike El Capitan and the other formations, the rock of the Sorcerer was nearly black.(*direct book quote). *“Is it normal to climb ropeless?” she asked. Madigan laughed. “No. It’s not normal. Only the crazies and the insanely good do it. When you climb without a rope, it’s one wrong move and you’re toast.” “Technically, he’ll be free BASEing. Climbing with a parachute in a backpack. It could save him if he falls from high enough, if he pulls the cord fast enough.” (*direct book quote).
What happens between Josh & April? How does his Sorcerer climb go? You’ll have to read LESSONS IN GRAVITY to find out, but man will it be worth the time it takes for you to read it! It’s an EXTREMELY EXHILARATING and emotionally filled story that’ll have you laughing, crying, smiling, and falling throughout. This is my first, but definitely not my last Megan Westfield story; what e debut novel! I received an ARC via IndieSage through NetGalley in exchange for a blog tour review. Due to sexual situations, this book is recommended for readers 16 and older.
